Recently, there have been discussions that brought up a point where it is said God cannot lie & considering He's supposed to be omnipotent, how can that be? I looked up some scriptures & came across these verses.
It has bothered me for a bit considering theses things, yet reassuring that we know He shall not deceive us. One explanation I read on here is that it's against Jehovah's nature to speak of anything that is untrue. However, I have wondered perhaps that there might be a different reason as well. I went over a well mentioned verse in Isaiah that I'm sure many of you are familiar with & it hit me in such a way that might have clarified matters. Consider the verse:(Hebrews 6:18) 18 in order that through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to take firm hold of the hope set before us.
(Numbers 23:19) God is not a mere man who tells lies, Nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it? When he speaks, will he not carry it out?
(Titus 1:2) and is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago;
Considering how this might show how powerful Jehovah really is, could it be due to the enormous power & said nature of that power that whatever He speaks, shall manifest in some manner? What do you guys think?(Isaiah 55:11) 11 So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, But it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight, And it will have sure success in what I send it to do.
