Biometric IDs are coming to a Gulag near you

I had no idea they were working to implement this so quickly...by the end of the year. Of course, it's strictly voluntary so nothing to worry about. /s

Lots of cameras with facial recognition too, just like the Chinese.

Russia and China seem to be taking the lead in this "brave new world". Blech!

In America, you can always find party.
In Soviet Russian, the party finds you.

West is far worse already:

If you live in US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and UK, you are living in what's called Five Eyes nations according to Edward Snowden, where you are subject to endless but secretive surveillance through your phone and your business dealings. Back a decade ago there was a datacenter collecting 3-4 Petabytes(1 PB = 1,000 Terabytes) a day!

Back in the covid-era, in Australia or New Zealand a pregnant woman was arrested by the police for posting something "not approved" by the government on Facebook. In UK there are enough cameras to track you everywhere, all the time.

Years ago there was a report on a tech news site that certain HP or Lenovo computers were taking a roundabout route to reach the customer, and it was found that tracking devices were installed. There was a game app where it was found it was secretly collecting location information from you. Certain flashlight apps as well. While I do not use my Smartphone for more than calling and texting, I am incredibly suspicious of Flashlight apps that ask for your location and contact info. No thanks, they can go and lose themselves.

Just yesterday, since I used my phone for timing my runs, I dropped it and screen broke. I'm going to go by myself a proper stopwatch that is water resistant so I don't have to deal with electronics that have to be taken care of as if an infant and potentially track you where you go. Modern tech SUCKS.

I have to add that among the 100-plus countries implementing CBDCs, China and Russia are both on it.

So the lesser-of-the-two-evil game Russia is playing now against the West might be a ruse, or at best something that won't last, where even Putin himself is unwillingly led to the end game.

Kirmmy, do you think the CBDCs and digital ID will be introduced initially as a voluntary act? Yes, I did note the sarcasm. No one anywhere in the whole world wants this, unless of course they're uninformed or crazy. Make it seem like it's not so bad afterall, trying to get people used to it? Because I really thought that they wouldn't be able to fully bring it in until after they crashed the system! THEN .. have people clamouring for it to save their lives because they're afraid. But of course, so much could happen before then. Most people here are clueless...still!

Banks are developing their own cbdc, but they need a platform to launch them on, they are working with a private enterprise called Ripple/XRP, to replace the current system. They will use it at first within the banking and corporate sector and once its running they will collapse the old system and tokenise all assetts. BRICS nations are also doing the same, and are developing a system outside of the west. That may be a cause for some animosity !

I fully expect the roll-out of central bank digital currencies to have incentives varying from a free soyburger to instant deposit of $500 shackles for signing up. That will net about 70% of any given nations population playing the game. 90% for Canada.

They're high percentages. It doesn't seem to take much persuasion to get people on board with their schemes though. I hope they "bow out" once they realise what it's really all about. What a mess..

The percentage I wonder about is what percent of people will read the terms and conditions? The vast majority will use the beast currency simply because all their NPC BOT friends on twitter rave about it.

The N S A has a million sq ft facility out in Utah.
They’ve recorded every conversation and text message you ever had on your smart phone, every keystroke you’ve ever tapped out on your computer, every financial transaction you’ve ever made and every place you’ve ever traveled to and put that data into a profile database.
These profiles will be examined and processed by a i at some point in the future so as to assign threat profiles to each person from which they’ll be able to deal with accordingly.
Snowden was right about the government spying on everyone of us.

Yes they are saying everywhere it will be voluntary. But that's what Bitcoin is all about in my opinion. The guy...or guys who developed Bitcoin (Satoshi Nakamoto) is unknown. Little is known about him/them. Sounds like a government operation to me. Introduce something to the public that is voluntary to participate in, get them warmed up for the big act. At some point it may become mandatory but I don't know... Think of all the use cases for cash where their CBDCs won't fit. And I'm not talking about drugs. Believe it or not, they may be forced to keep cash, but you will only be allowed a pittance in your possession. After all, they don't need total control...only 99.9%. /s
You got that right.

Oh great, GREAT nation I live in.
Haha! I think you're being sarcastic! I'm thinking of pulling the pin and heading for South or Central America ASAP.
