Do you recognize the truth?

If you change the word “choose” to “use”, it generally gives a better understanding in meaning.
Yip: Jehovah chose and used Moses the most humble man around; ofcourse He also chose well in using Abraham, Isaac and Jacob including Joseph yet it all eventurally went awry. You know Daniel talks of ones like us at the end of this system who know their God, act effectively passing on insight and understanding to the many but some will be made to stumble in order to do a whitening, a cleansing. This is Dan 11:32 onwards but this is typical of the reason some stumble vs35 'because of them/us'. Yes! Because of ourselves! Great question from Proverbs14:15

I thouroughly think this scripture describes us here Isa10:20 I will paraphrase it. The survivors of Watchtower the ones left over after being struck and hurt by their wicked direction will no longer follow them but they will support themselves upon the Holy One of Israel instead!
“And it will certainly occur in that day that those remaining over of Israel and those who have escaped of the house of Jacob will never again support themselves upon the one striking them, and they will certainly support themselves upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in trueness.”—Isaiah 10:20

Good scripture Mick. Thanks for pointing that out.

This is a very thought provoking scripture, but who do you think the GB would say this scripture applies to? 🤔

So the house of Jacob would have to mean Christendom then? If they're "escaping" it and turning to being supported by Jehovah? That doesn't make much sense really..
Nonsense is'nt it? Jacob has always pertained to Jah's people. As much as Russell and Rutherford got it wrong they brought deeper understanding of God's word. Not being a trinity, no hell fire, meek inheriting the earth and especially God's Name JEHOVAH and true relationship between God and His Son.

I have just read the magazine - thanks for the reference. I can’t say it has enlivened my day! It basically says that the anointed will go to heaven and rule, and that those in earth will be “looked after”, - like leaving your dog in a kennel while you go on holiday. It does not speak of qualifications required to live the life promised us. Nothing about faith, endurance, the love of one another that Paul H was talking about in his comment the other day, caring for the widow and those impoverished - for that matter, the anointed also. This is largely the issue with watchtower, it’s all about action and reaction, nothing of content and developing the fruits of the spirit within ourselves for the simple love of righteousness. Trusting in others, doing as we are told are not required of us primarily. There has to be a motivator within us for those things to be appreciated with understanding. Developing love of and for the attributes of Spirit are required, because without that, we have no knowledge or understanding of the entitlement to life.

It is just a song dog, not an assembly program. Goodnight! next you'll be wanting flowers on your grave.

I like your statement about this group helps to keep us alive spiritually! So so true! I really was "dying" and life was becoming so dark due to me not "understanding" what was going on in the Org. Thank you a watcher for finding me in that gutter of a group exjw 🤗🤗🤗
That's @a watcher just doing her thing, warming up for her next assignment (think 2 witnesses). I am very happy for you (and us all who benefit greatly by your presence {parousia LOL}) for taking the next step(s) and actually hitting the keys necessary to land here. You are a wonderful member of this congregation!

Hi Mick - yes my point was built upon semantics - there is a thin dividing line between to choose and to use, but it’s worth the consideration, (in my opinion) not so much in the use of the person, but the ethics behind the action. Is this not the reason why Jehovah did not crush Satan from the outset, so that the issue of sovereignty could be established? Thus the humility (of Moses) is an asset in itself and that very asset (not the man, but humility itself) was ‘used’ to exaggerate the difference between the most powerful man and the perceived weakest of men. Thus it was not the man but his asset of humility - Jehovah’s humility - in ‘requesting’ of pharaoh - to let His people return. How it played out, in that it was Jehovah’s power behind Moses is self evident - no man can pick up a sea and split it apart leaving a dry channel, and though it grieved Jehovah, Moses paid for his own arrogance in striking the rock. If Jehovah chose the man, then why did His choice prove wrong when Moses usurped Jehovah’s authority over the supply in water? If Moses was “used” for his asset of humility, then the mistakes of Moses are not a reflection upon Jehovah’s choice of servant. Is this not what Satan argued over the point of Job In that Jehovah put a fence around him as “special“? I don’t think it’s the man, but the faith he has that is used to substantiate the attributes of Jehovah and to prove issues of sovereignty are based upon the love of, and value of those attributes in free will. Thus when Moses stepped outside of that remit, he too was punished. It was only a thought. It’s not important in the great scheme of things - but certainly if I apply it to myself, I wouldn’t “choose“ myself, heavens no! but if Jehovah could “use” a stubborn old goat, then I would indeed be a “go to” “choice”! ☹️

Moses paid for his own arrogance in striking the rock.
He nearly lost his life for not circumcising his son; if Zipporah had not stepped in and used a flint to do the job he would have been eliminated by Jehovah; hence the pronouncement 'Bridegroom of blood!' Indepth consideration of yours B. Remember when it was just you, me and Brooklyn keeping the conversation going? What a welcome plethora of talk going on here now!

A bit overwhelming ! 🤣

P.S B; DId you get the BBC news this morning of a man arrested in London for wearing a Kippah? Knowing many Brummies in my area; they will be imagining a man wearing a Kipper! Incase our American friends are not aware (a kipper is a smoked haddock)
I often go out with a kipper balanced on my head. My mother was an “old trout” so it rather runs in the family. We had a whale of a time even though people thought there was something “fishy” about us. I know my father was rather crabby at times about it all and of course, we were all smoked. Did you know that Tuna Turner made a song about kippers - she copied it from Tunakhamen. I can well imagine that someone has been arrested for wearing a kipper - make no bones about it, society is all washed up. You can wave it goodbye, to be shore.
