New Song on JW.org for Convention

Wide Awake

We can't help but notice that new song's lyrics. Besides the fact it sounds like a X-mas song lyrically, it actually says Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Maybe they are reading so much about the lack of Jesus references they came up with a new tune just so they can say "We do talk about Jesus " or "We recognize he is our savior". Just very odd. Didn't mention the GB. What were your thoughts? Seems like they are up to something. They always have their reasons for things that are strange and unusual!

My thoughts? They have people in a department who all they do all day is read these types of forums. Then, they go back to their respective committees and report on what the issues are and they form policy and videos based on what the "hot" buttons are.

This is what marketing departments of corporations do. Do focus groups, read comments in forums and then conform to what people want if possible.

There is NO WAY that they are using God's Word as their guide, because if they were, then what other people thought and said would make no difference whatsoever.

The song does sound very Christendom-ish and also the "Jesus is the way, the Truth, and the Life" phrase is what Mark Martin says in literally every video that he makes. He also calls them out for never talking about Jesus. Eric Wilson does the same thing. Eric literally counts how many times the name Jesus appears in WT articles.

So, yes, WT is conniving again. Make any kind of corny song you want, if you don't ACT like Jesus, then Matthew 7:15-23 applies to them:

15 “Be on the watch for the false prophetsq who come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those men. 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’a 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Come Jesus Come! I hate to admit it but I really love this song! Is this really a JW song?

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder what he will make of this song. And I agree with Shiloh, it's not too bad a song. At least it's not singing the praises of the GB.

Hoy la he revisado en la jw.br y me sigue pareciendo alimento para bebés. Busquen un bebé? Anda que no hay cosas que buscar en las escrituras para dar alabanza a Jehová. Pero un bebé? 🤦🏻

I get the impression Tony was trying to stop all this & now that he is out, the Org will go full mainstream in due time. I have to say as well that perhaps the vaccine was promoted in order to kill off the older generation, so they don't influence the newer one & have no understanding on what the faith used to be.
The poison is killing indiscriminately. If I was to choose which group, then it's killing more of the younger and middle-aged people. 99% of Bethel "vaccinated" in March of 2021 when barely any of the populace had it is something else. The mandates didn't kick in full force until end of that year. My dad/mom/brother took it in April.

I heard a talk recently where the speaker, Ralph Walls, a GB helper said that "Jesus is in charge".

Remember, 100 years ago, 99% of the songs sung were all to Jesus.

No doubt the younger generation are not doing too well. If they are suffering, I can only imagine what is happening to those whose health isn't top notch.
