Watchtower Movies Now On Letterboxed But For A Fee šŸ¤”

I came across this site while browsing it's called "Letterboxed" and realised it has all of the Watchtower Societies films listed, you watch them and then mark them according to your rating.
But when you try to watch a film, you can't because you have to subscribe either Ā£14.00 or Ā£36.00 a year for films you can already see on their website.
Is this why they're building a film set at Ramapo to add films to these type of watch and subscribe platforms? šŸ¤”

No doubt Letterbox pays the WT royalties to show their videos, otherwise, it is a copyright violation. Since the videos are, as you point out, free on JW Broadcast the WT probably considers distributing the videos on another platform an opportunity to make the information available to people who may not be familiar with JW Broadcast. Besides, potential viewers are already subscribed to Letterbox and do not pay to specifically see WT videos. Nothing particularly nefarious, although, obviously, given their numerous money-making schemes in recent years it does make you wonder.

True, I just thought making money from Bible material that is normally free is a bit underhanded, I thought the scriptures said we receive free so we should give free. I guess most of those who have left reviews are apostates which will only put off interested ones anyway.

I wonder why the WT doesn't put their material up on YouTube. It is, after all, the most popular video platform on the planet. They could switch off comments, so no worries there. They could even monetize their channel.

Thatā€™s true I never thought about that scenario before. Or could it be that their afraid, that it would be an easy excuse for people to say to the brothers who call at their doors, ā€œitā€™s fine I know all about you Iā€™m not interestedā€ or ā€œIā€™ll just find out all I want to know on YouTube thanksā€
I know that they have now started to put articles from jw,org on google search under the Jehovahs Witness news section, I realised they started doing this during the pandemic,
I believe it filled up the spaces where the obituaries use to be.
I use to check them, I saw the numbers increase but now there hardly there, just filled with loads of info off the website. Donā€™t know if anyone else has noticed this.

Ethically, all preaching should be free, but the preacher has to live also. If what is said is valued, then to donate is the honourable course of action, and to do so discretely. As with that couple who sold a field and supposedly gave all the value of it to the congregation, (I forget their names) but held a portion back, so also the watchtower does in my opinion. They have more than enough money to support the preaching work on the donations they receive and by honouring those gifts, they should aim to spend it all and break even each year discharging their duty. If they had faith, Jehovah would meet those needs and the brethren could use their reserves for their own family needs. But the watchtower demand all that they can afford to give and guilt trip for more and hide its purpose under the banner of ā€œpreaching workā€. Well that carries everything from food to sleeping. Think of the interest on donations alone! For the money used to fund all these world wide regional headquarters, the watchtower could have paid for world wide printing presses to spread the word, and even at the advent of the internet, gone digital and still maintained enough printing for poorer countries - not that there is much lack of internet anywhere now. If a grain of faith can move a mountain, then it can certainly organise the preaching work without having to build luxury mansions. I know one guy who works out of a barn and can reach pretty much all over the world with the message. One guy! What could eight million do with a donated computer and basic recording equipment?

I couldn't agree more brother.
If they had a small amount of wealth that's different, but their spending a fortune on Ramapo to make films, I was told these were for the brothers to watch in the new system šŸ¤¦
After coming across this website today, I'm not quite sure what they're intentions are, I know they sold Bethel in Ridgeway London to a film company who makes Netflix films, so may be they got tips from them who knows. But what I do know is that there are brothers and sisters in poor lands who are going to bed on empty stomachs while trying to give donations, while we see plans being made for five star like apartments with basket ball courts, something doesn't sit right here.

Maybe a fortune as far as little people like you and me are concerned, but for a nation with a population pushing 9 million, it's chump change. Look at the GDP of Switzerland which has about the same numbers...uh huh. Look ...if everyone donated 20 bucks a month, you have an annual budget of roughly a billion ducats

Hmm šŸ¤” I thought about the way he reacted to the money changers,

Basketball courts? Seriously? Itā€™s far worse than I imagined. What is the apostasy going to reveal?!
