If you found him way before 2020 and you were still going to a kingdom hall, how did you cope? You must feel like a fish out of water! I do, and I only zoom in..
I feel more like I'm walking on a razor's edge. I still believe in the earthly org, but Robert's interpretation of prophecy makes more sense than the GB's, so I'm 'eating' from both tables. I want the Truth, no matter where it comes from. Hopefully, knowing all possibilities, I will be ready for whatever comes.

Salty: “Resentful, bitter and irritated manner”?! According to the American dictionary. I hope I don’t come across like that. It’s not intended. I try to present as arrogant, opinionated, and a typically English bigot. I have clearly failed again. I thought I was making headway with “my fellow Americans!” ☹️
You have made headway with this “fellow American,” Barnaby. One thing I learned from the scriptures that I appreciated was that we need to be all things to all people. We learn to adapt to different one’s personalities instead of being so opinionated about what or how they say something or what they do. Of course most of my friends in the congregation weren’t the “popular “ or preferred ones but I didn’t care about that. I enjoyed the diversity of friendships I had.

Likewise, here on the forum I feel the same way. And you, Barnaby are a gem of a brother I’ve enjoyed getting to know you through your comments and your wisdom is beyond words. Don’t ever change the way you are. I appreciate your outspokenness and your honesty…not to mention your humor. I know Jehovah sees the good in you and that’s what matters most. 😊

That's so true.. maybe we're like the dogs eating the crumbs underneath the table 🤔 (Mark 7v28)

Truth does not come from a site, though clearly I agree with the sentiment. Rather, it is using what we have in our hearts to consider and expand on what we already know in understanding its values and the absorption of it into our soul. The living of it. In truth, though it is difficult to define now, the watchtower provided these elements of faith, but stifled their development for all the reasons that we are now aware of. However, the very fact that we are here, is evidence that the truth was identified in its embryonic state in meaningfulness for this age by watchtower. Robert has been picking it apart for 25 years and is still not finished - thus it stands to reason that watchtower, to those awake, provides the lie that identifies the truth - it holds a mirror in which the continuous comparison forms a foil of enlightenment.

Thus it is no longer a question of which table to feed at, that must be obvious by now, but in our own development of faith in what we have. The question comprises two parts. To whom do we belong? And “Why”? This site reveals the truth. Its arguments are solid, proven to all but the most unreasoning of minds, and thus the action of feeding, given the nearness of the time and our tenuous hold upon life, should be progressing far into digestion of the truth….what are we to do with it? How we are to apply it and make it our own? To ask ourselves the question, do we have the faith to die for it?

Why is it so important that the brethren in the congregation are blind, deaf and asleep? Why would Jehovah do that? What is there to gain from it? Is it not so that the lie when exposed, has an awakening affect? Awakening to what then? We have that privilege already, and so we can ask ourselves that question and apply the answer. We have been given the food. It we have been given the Talants we must now use them productively in the application and understanding of faith. Wisdom precedes understanding so the bible tells us, and thus there must be a crucial and critical factor between the two.

I think I understand most of what you said 🤔 I suppose Mary did something similar when she was working things out, keeping quiet, thinking deeply about the truth of God that was known at the time, and she probably compared it to how the scribes and Pharisees were.. lots to think about as im not exactly sure what Jehovah expects from me now that I not one of Jehovah's witnesses in the old sense of the word 🥴

I'm beginning to think, that's what Jehovah wants: for us to be unsure of ourselves in the sense that we won't think we've got it all figured out, we won't be so sure of our own wisdom, that we will KEEP searching for Him and most of all TRUST in Him because He is all we need.

Fortunately, it does not matter who we were, but what we wish to become. Though we fail, we can have faith in the love of Jehovah.

For sure, I never felt like I knew it all though because of the confusion caused by wolves and imposters in the congregations, but things are definitely getting a little clearer now 👍

No doubt it may be similar to what the term “weaned” implies.

“to detach from a source of dependence such as being weaned off the medication”

Both yourself and Kevin have been good friends to me , and for a very long time Barnaby . I have seen your humour for what it really is , and that is , while presenting yourself as a Sassenach , who is better than the rest of us non English , but all the while , the real butt of the jokes are mainly at yourself . I have also seen over all these years also , your input of valuable thoughts and information into a discussion . You are a special person , as are many on this forum . I always say , when someone does not find a joke funny . I thought I was being funny , but you have proven me wrong , and I must thank you for doing so . Please do not change . As for having to brew our own alcohol , I will have to try to get a still made .

It's always been up to each individual and their conscience before God to make their own decisions in life, the message in the word is clear and given to all freely, more than ever in our age. If you fell for someones trickery and you didn't test their words against the scriptures, then you need to take responsibility for your actions and stop blaming others for your own failure to heed the warning messages in the word.
Even if you did poison yourself in some way by listening to bad advice, don't fear because through God there is nothing that can't be overcome.
