Would you like to be anointed?

There is nothing wrong with the question! Some brothers or sisters just honestly would like to be close to Jehovah God, their heavenly Father and to Jesus Christ! But we need to remember, that it is Jehovah God that makes the choosing and inviting. But he is not going to force us to accept the invitation, because he respects out free will! But he might send us an “invitation” (Matthew 28:19), That verse is saying in other words: “Go, make anointed for me…”. How does he do it? First through the anointed brothers or sisters and after with his spirit. For example, Romans 8:14: “For all who are led by God’s spirit are indeed God’s sons.” So, if you enjoy daily the prayers and considering the scriptures, witnessing and having a spiritual conversation, and all kinds of theocratic activities, and being happy and his spirit helps you to overcome all difficulties and you retain the happiness and tranquility and continue in that course daily…However, you must remember the part in the model prayer: “Let your will be done”! In other words, Jehovah knows what is best for all of us! Some have developed very close relationships with their marriage mate, with the family members and friends and like to have them forever! For others, it is up to them to accept the “invitation” from Jehovah, if they receive one. How do they do it? By partaking at the Memorial! And even after that when they examine themselves to see if they retain that happy spirit, love, and calmness of relationship with Jehovah continually, it will be an indication that Jehovah is happy with our accepting his invitation…

I'm not sure it's accurate to call anyone anointed at this time. I feel that someone doesn't become anointed (144,000) until they receive their final seal. It might be more accurate to say that they are partakers with a heavenly hope. Even the apostle Paul made that distinction.

You have it backward. Being anointed is the calling. The sealing ends the anointing. Is Jesus anointed now? No. He was anointed while he was on earth. Now he is the new creation that came from being born again from the anointing.

Would it be accurate to say that the sealing CONFIRMS the anointing?

Better put, the sealing consummates the anointing. Think of it this way, Paul told the anointed Corinthians that he had personally promised them in marriage to Christ, but he was concerned that they might be corrupted by Satan, like Eve was, and not attain the goal. However, those who are faithful to their anointing will ultimately be part of the bride of Christ. That is the consummation of their engagement, their anointing, the marriage.

No. FYI. I was listening to a former sister that was in the same congregation as Brother Kenneth Cook Jr. Now a governing body member. She states that when Brother Cook realized he was anointed that his wife was seriously sad about it. She had hoped to spend eternity with him on earth. BTW, even though this sister has left the witnesses, she expressed real fondness for the Cook's. Said they were salt of the earth people. Kind, caring and humble.

The sealing does not confirm the anointing. The one who receives the anointing has the assurance that he has been called. The sealing only confirms that the prize is insured.
I would only offer a slight correction. The sealing does not confirm the anointing. The one who receives the anointing has the assurance that he has been called. The sealing only confirms that the prize is insured attained

I like that word 'consummation': to make something complete. Thank you for explaining that to me. I learned something (about myself). I never realized that calling=anointing.

I think Cook was raised a Mormon.

I think it's a language issue. Ensuring is synonymous with guaranteeing. The sealing ensures or guarantees having reached the prize.

While the idea of being invited is just about the most flattering thing any human could think of my only desire for myself my whole life and my one petition has always been if I'm worth saving to them to have offspring and to live the earthly hope for at least many generations of them. Overiding my will by annointing would be akin to rape in a sense and ive told Jehovah a number of times I'd not reward that and end things in response if there was an attempt to pull that. I have no idea what the odds of my sister making it to through the end of this system of things and my mother accepted annointing on her second invitation a few years ago so I see myself as caretaker of her earthly lineage. I orient my life more around pleasing our heavenly father every week the non negotiable stand on my petition is the only area where I'm self willed.

Question: How many ways of invitations are there?
Answer: I believe there are more than 144 000!

The restless desire for something new, that now prevails, is not a natural but an abnormal condition, due to our imperfection, and to our present unsatisfactory surroundings. It is not God-like restlessly to crave something new. Most things are old to God and he rejoices most in those things which are old and perfect. So will it be with man when restored to the image of God.

The perfect man will not know or appreciate fully, and hence will not prefer, the glory of spiritual being, because of a different nature, just as fishes and birds, for the same reason, prefer and enjoy each their own nature and element most. Man will be so absorbed and enraptured with the glory that surrounds him on the human plane that he will have no aspiration to, nor preference for, another nature or other conditions than those possessed.

I have had some dreams about what if I was, but nothing more than that. Probably from just subconsciously wondering what it might be like. We must understand that it's not a choice though, and certainly is something way beyond what we could ever imagine or dream up.

The sealing of the anointed ones (at the time of Jesus' judgment) glorifies them even while on Earth before being received to the presence of Jehovah God and his son...

If the question is: Would I, if it were possible. No. First because I would accept whatever I'd gotten but personally, I love life on earth. I love life as a human I think that in the long run, it is a privilege that will be understood as unique and special among God's creation. For a time, we procreate. No other species beyond planet earth has ever had that divine gift. We are lesser than angels according to Jesus but even so, we are given gifts that make humans a special creation. To quote a book/movie "Mankind's purpose is to bring glory to God". Angels can fly or move about without strain as we would feel it. We on the other hand, can put in effort and work to gain basic things such as growing food or building homes. There is no satisfaction greater than having worked for what we have. That is not a comment against the angels for having superior abilities. It is rather a statement of appreciation of the gift of our place as given by Jehovah God. God loves effort and work. Maybe the key is in understanding our place and appreciating the unique placement we have. Satan rejected his place as did many angels. They wanted more than what was given them by their Creator.

Thank you brother! Basically you repeated what I have written, but in your own words...:) Of course Jehovah is not going to impose on us anything that is classified as undeserved kindness and especially life everlasting! Everlasting life in heaven or on Earth is LIFE as undeserved kindness. The reason I have written above is because the number of anointed has not being sealed yet and there might be some "vacancies" for the "eleventh hour workers"...:) And some that have been serving Jehovah God faithfully for decades might still be wondering...Those moments today that we are living are "once in all eternity possibility"! With the end of the 7th creative day of Jehovah, it could be definitely said, that all of Jehovah's creation is absolutely perfect in every respect, including the perfect judicial system for all eternity! Besides, from a the answers I find that the topic of anointing is not so very well understood...:)
