About baptism.

I'm 41 and not baptized, I don't belong to a kingdom hall and don't want to be baptized into their man made rules. My question is how can I become baptized outside of a kingdom hall? By whom? Does it have to be a lake or big body of water? Can a women baptize a person or only males? Also, what happens if someone is aware of what it means to be baptized yet never chooses to make that leap? Is being baptized at a kingdom hall by JW's the only way to be baptized?

I think you already know it, someone who aligns with your current beliefs. By whom? Someone who represents Christ.

Robert as far as I know, do not want to baptized anyone, it may have to do of not a part of his office as a watchman, or from other reasons.

According to Didache(aka The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles), a 1st-2nd century community book(organizational book) for rural gentile Christians, recommends doing it in a living water(spring or river,) if there is none, then any body of water, if there is still none(desert), pouring water on the head for three times. It’s an interesting book.

Also, what happens if someone is aware of what it means to be baptized yet never chooses to make that leap?
Baptism corresponds to being dead and alive in Christ.(Romans 6:3-11) It is important for one who wants to become a follower of Christ to be baptized. It is a public declaration that one wants to serve only Christ and God.

Is being baptized at a kingdom hall by JW's the only way to be baptized?
If you want to be recognized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, then it is.

Good information thank you, pouring water on the head 3 times is interesting thought to do if there isn’t a big enough body of water around. I wonder if my wife could do the baptizing.

First question.
Before I answer your questions.. Why do you want to be Baptized?

It’s been weighing on me for a while, I want to show my dedication to God and Christ. I feel for me it’s a step forward to show I am here to worship God in spirit and truth. If I don’t take this step to me it would show my level of care that it’s not all too important.

You need to prayerfully research more on this. Since the inception of Christianity, Baptism is done by man, not woman, according to the examples the Bible provided.

I greatly support your thoughts here @SkinnyAndShort.

Let's break this down to its principle elements. Water baptism is not the end all saving life preserver..
Baptism, begins with a circumcision of the heart.. A baptism of sorts..not a dunk in the water.. it's like an awakening, when you first believe after you've heard the truths of God's word through his son about the kingdom, which is an introduction to Christ and his father Jehovah... Water baptism is an outward signal which comes later from the seat of motivation, which is the heart...where one wishes to identify himself as a partaker of bringing oneself in line with the pattern set down by Christ and to tell Christ and Jehovah you wish to dedicate you life to living by thier standards and principles and commands ... which gives the newly baptised one a temporary clean conscience to approach Jehovah in prayer through Christ ... But know this, being baptized does not wash you completely clean, it only absolves you of your passed sins, but from that day forward, whatever sins practice can be held against you so, it's up to you to keep your dedication as Stirling as possible....
Now where can you get Baptized? I personally went to an assembly hall, one out of my own circuit not knowing anyone, because I didn't want anyone in my circuit to know, so, I prayed beforehand and felt it was the right thing and dedicated my life to Jehovah and his Son, then sat down in the baptismal candidate session, it was a Saturday.. And dedicated myself as best I could before all present because I had brought my life in line with Christs requirements, I was preaching and teaching, I went over the baptismal questions and fully understood what my role was as one of Jehovahs witnesses..
Post script.
Yes the body of water needs to be large enough to submerge you completely. and yes, men must perform the baptism because Christs spirit and Angels are present .. if you chose not to be Baptised and never bring yourself to that point, then are you really complying with Christ and Jehovahs provisions?
Lastly...what's preventing you from getting baptized?

What prevents me? I haven’t been to a Kingdom Hall since I was about 8 or 9, I don’t want to be baptized with their rules, Infact I don’t think they would baptize since I don’t accept their lies. Also I have no one to baptize me since it appears it must be a male to do so.

I have heard of self baptism from some one on this forum what are thoughts on this?
Know this, I didn't dedicate myself to the organization.. I dedicated myself to Jehovah and Christ through the holy spirit if that helps.. Since it is only Jehovah through christ that can save you...
Secondly..Can you baptise yourself..No!
As there must be two or more witnesses present for Christ's spirit and angel to be present. You may not like this, but in order to be saved by calling upon the name of Jehovah, you must first know him, and his son, and presently, only Jehovahs Witnesses carry his name..Jesus even said there is no other name in which anyone can be saved, and that name is Jehovah.. who else baptises in that name?..no other group on earth does..

Adult Baptism has today become a spectacle for others, especially for the witnesses. John baptised in the river and the bible indicates that he was “known”, but I do not recall if crowds attended. Before Christs’s declaration just how many were responding to John’s entreaty to get baptised? Certainly people were aware of the coming of the messiah. The meaning of baptism is all important, yet as was made plain to me by various brothers who always suspected motives it seems and set themselves up as interrogators of virtue as an outward sign. Whatever the meaning of baptism is to the heart, it seemed secondary to the assumed evident to its interpretations in the actions of the flesh. And that is always under scrutiny from the assumed guardians of faith. It is very strange, because the act is symbolic and supposed to be reassuring to the faith of all parties. It’s meaning though is highly personal and while elders wittered away worry about motive and understanding 1914 and other remarkable teachings, their questions never seemed to concern the heart motivation and relationship with Jehovah - the love of righteousness, faith, creation, and insight into a spiritual embracing of what is holy. It was all about rules and regulations and believing what watchtower said was true. My motive was that I had found the truth. That was my assurance. But my love was of creation and the creator. I cannot admit to deep insight, but I can equate it to a sense then of what it was like to find a justifiable reason to live. A sort of immature parental sense of adoption. It bears little relationship with the depths to be plumbed in the vast expanse and richly meaningful inspiration to be uncovered within the attributes of Jehovah. Baptism becomes almost a daily gift of understanding in depth of meaning and application when it’s source is grasped as a reason not so much for living, but for understanding its essential beauty in purity of accomplishment. “Man has not dreamed of what Jehovah has in store for those that love Him”. There is your baptism. A doorway. The key is the desire and implementation of one’s acceptance to go through it in becoming one with His manifestation of it. It is of the heart. There is no one to give baptism. You take it unto yourself and in all that it implies. My first girlfriend thought otherwise. She had written in her bible that she was “saved” on such and such a date when she was baptised. Given her conduct, it was safe to say that she was neither saved or knew how to be. Certainly she didn’t think I was worth saving.

Jesus Christ could have baptized himself, even John thought that he is the one who needed baptism from him and yet, we see Jesus submit himself to him.

Nothing is written in the bible about self baptism except Naaman, at the instructions of prophet Elisha for his leprosy.

Even the later books produced during the Ante-Nicene Fathers, I have not encountered yet about instructions on self-baptism. Maybe @The God Pill can help us with that for an example if there is any.

There were many a baptism by John, even to the point large crowds gathered, John even had vitriolic words with Pharisees and Saddusees over baptism Mathew 3,5-9
One thing is certain, the anointed must be baptized a water baptism to inherit the Kingdom ...

so then we are at the point where i struggle.. who did the apostles and disciples baptize people in the name of? if we go to the interlinear bible f.ex and look up matthew 28:19? is it a small trifling matter that i would also need to lie to publicly accept and condone the 1914 doctrine and give inappropriate honor publicly to a human organization, even if its merely a tool for a task. for me i find it impossible to be baptized in the name of the watchtower. and do Jehovah really base his judgement on if i manage to get my name written in the database at jworg? Is that the same as the book of life? Thats imo a very human way of looking at it and Gods heart is greater than all of ours.. lucky for us.. even if I am as Roman says 7:24 a miserable man
i put my faith in that.
Jah will provide a way

I do not disagree, and to be sure, I do not remember the finer details of John‘s work - thanks for the scripture. You’re right. My point really was the value of it, given the qualifications that are applied to it. Surely the meaning is the value of it, as our sins can only be cleansed by the blood of Jesus’ sacrifice? Skinny and short made the point of man-made rules. My thinking was merely to agree that he is absolutely right in my opinion as I understand things to be and yes, that certainly does not come with any degree of guarantee that I am correct in my thinking. I was under the impression, perhaps erroneously then, that baptism is of the heart. I cannot see otherwise, but I see no value in the current vow to watchtower confirming their authority in the process now. It is a blasphemy of the highest order. I am not sure then how sanctification can come from such an error and have believed for some time now, certainly for the last forty odd years that baptism is of the heart. I’m not sure about the necessity of such for the anointed. Perhaps you can straighten me out on that. Was Paul baptised after the intervention of Christ in his life, or was he baptised by the event? Thanks Rev.

This is a point that has rattled in my head also . Not only was Saul / Paul not baptized , he was not baptized , yet saw the glory of Christ as the first to see it , as he said , "He was born prematurely " .
