About names & their meanings.

I don't know if I have posted this before (perhaps on the old form unless my memory is confusing it for some other social media app) but I have noticed in how names have an effect on ones life & even a persons physiognomy. As bizarre as it sounds, it has me wonder if there's some esoteric reason behind how names have an impact on a person. Even Jehovah & Jesus had changed names for people like Abram to Abraham & Simon to Peter. Plus, many of the names in the scripture that were chosen for people were of importance due to events surrounding the birth of said individual. It's even said in the spiritistic community that names do affect how your life will develop. I found these videos & sites if people are interested to see what their names mean.

The name Susan means lily. The Hawaiians put a lot of thought and meaning into naming their children. In fact, its the Hawaiian custom for the grandparents to name the children. An Elder in our first congregation in Hawaii who is native Hawaiian, named his grandson and I forget the Hawaiian name, but he had seen the sun peak out from the clouds the day the grandson was born and so part of his name means ray of sunshine. It is a beautiful custom at least as long as the actual parents like the name the grandparents choose. They were a beautiful family who still serves Jehovah as far as I know. However, one of their daughters did leave the organization for a while and she returned a few years prior to COVID. She was vaccinated and she is in her 40’s with I think 3 young children. She now has heart problems. So sad.

Interesting how cultures play a role on names. You definitely look like a Susan! As for the sister who got the poke, that could definitely play a role in her leaving again if the children begin to develop problems. Hopefully it won't go that route though.
