I was considering a new thread but this is as good of a place as any. I sure hope I don't make anyone angry. Lately people seem snappy, even on here. What I have to say isn't that noteworthy but I get censored in other places.
My thought had to do with the words of Jesus when he said his return would be as in the days of Noah. Young fella knocks on my door just now trying to sell me solar panels for my roof. I let him finish his sentence and sighed. I asked if he was selling solar panels. Then I asked if he was paying attention to what is happening around the world. Like most, he says "Oh you mean like inflation and stuff?". Yeah. Inflation and stuff. Heavy on the stuff. He knew. He can see but he wouldn't cop to it. That just pissed me off but I didn't show it. I asked him if he even payed attention to anything outside of his circle of friends and if he actually saw some of the horrific things happening around the world.
Blank stare. Crickets.
I didn't hold back. I simply told him to get ready because the world as he knows it is about to end. I said stock up on food and stop pretending it isn't happening. He is trying to make a living knocking on doors. I get it. God bless him for the effort because I live in Phoenix and it's hot outside even now, a few hours later. The commission is either really good or he's too stupid to get a different job that doesn't involve pounding the pavement.
I don't know how they do it. Jesus said they took no notice. It's God's words so there isn't any debate to be had but I am just flummoxed to look into the eyes of people who seem to not be aware of the world right now. If it were a tornado or heavy lightning they would soil themselves getting to cover and yet this is even more obvious. Very few these days are so insulated that they don't catch the latest "school shooting" or whatever else. I am one of the few who choose to separate myself from a phone but I have a computer so there is still contact.
It's as if I am in New York being mugged and people are walking by as if they don't see.
I didn't keep the boy long. I could see fear beginning to build in his eyes the longer I spoke. We no longer need to go door to door. They come to me now. In the many years I've lived in this house, or any other for that matter, I've never seen anyone walk away from my door faster.
Never be afraid of the truth.
