I remember the updates quite well, I just don't recall a ticker. But yes it was these updates that woke me up as well.

That was, of course 2021. But was is a ticker?

The ticker scrolled across the screen at the top of the homepage, just unser the address bar. It had “updates” from the WHO. The WHO is the UN. My family, me, along with friends, are still upset they would do that. I’m amazed that you don’t remember.

Wow! No I really don't recall that. Like Susan stated we were in shock just listening to them so it's quite possible I missed it.

I apologize, @Ms_ladyblue, and @goldie, I really should have taken screen shots to show others.
My 82 yr old mother was the person who showed me, and she was as sickened and shocked as I was. My siblings, bro and sis in-laws, and a few of my unvaxxed friends saw it also. My heart sank. I never would have imagined we’d see updates from the UN’s WHO on the website. Mom was asserting incredulously, (almost yelling) “What is this garbage? It’s the Wild Beast on our website?! What is going on back there?” It was during the “lockdown of lies,” so probably spring 2021.
At this point, it probably doesn’t matter. The damage was done as planned, and now we are seeing the results.

We could barely watch the updates and we were shell shocked, so that is likely why I don’t recall that.

Yeah idk about the ticker. I just assumed by the way it was described that he meant this.

DON’T FORGET they had a ticker from the UN scrolling across the jw/org homepage for months pushing covid fiction.

I know for me the terms “reliable” and “governmental” are polar opposites. But if you put an extra space in between govern and mental that is likely more accurate. It’s shaping up that some in the ORG who survive the Great Tribulation are likely to encourage obedience to the 8th King, which is what many of us on the forum are alarmed by. The setup seems to be introducing the idea of obeying, strange, illogical and impractical instructions that they are prepping for.

Interesting point on potentially encouraging obedience to the 8th King. If in fact, requirements asked of JWs during the reign are not directly in opposition to bible principles, or it's presented to them that way, definitely can see this outcome. Sad. I thought Winder, at the October 2023 annual mtg, brought up a new point, but was wrong. The admission of the GB not being inspired or infallible is not new as stated in the Feb 2017 Watchtower: https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=2017283&srctype=wol&srcid=share&par=23 ->So, I ask, how can unquestioned obedience be expected from a group that can make mistakes? Tough to swallow. The recent WT study emphasized learning to read and write, or, have a basic education; however, higher education is strongly discouraged. So, get educated, but not too educated where you develop critical thinking skills and start questioning and researching on your own. And... coming back to topic, there are strange and irrational things i've observed lately in many brothers. Common sense, compassion and logic seem to be disappearing... results of the ?

It will be interesting to see how it actually develops but I think that at the same time that the 8th King comes to power, the anointed will also be sealed and thereby establish God’s Kingdom. So, I think it will be a choice between obedience to God’s Kingdom or obedience to the 8th King.
