[They] perceived that they were uneducated and ordinary.—Acts 4:13.

Some feel that God’s people cannot teach about the Bible because they have not graduated from recognized theological schools. But they need to examine the facts. That is what the Gospel writer Luke was determined to do. He made it a point to trace “all things from the start with accuracy.” He wanted his readers to “know fully the certainty of the things” they had heard about Jesus. (Luke 1:1-4) The Jewish people in ancient Beroea were like Luke. When they first heard the good news about Jesus, they consulted the Hebrew Scriptures to confirm what they were being told. (Acts 17:11) In a similar way, people today need to examine the facts. They must compare what they are taught by God’s people with what the Scriptures say. They also need to study the record of Jehovah’s people in modern times. If they do a proper “background check,” they will not allow prejudice or hearsay to blind them. w21.05 3 ¶7-8
Theologians are indoctrinated with the denominational orientation of the theological school they attended. They may have a collection of facts in their possession but no truth. But don't kid yourself, Jehovah's Witnesses are indoctrinated too, only in a different way.

The Watchtower has developed a very effective program for overturning the centuries of accumulated doctrinal error taught by the great theological universities and preached from the pulpits of churches throughout the realm of Christendom. Jehovah's Witnesses can boast of knowing the truth, at least in regard to the basic Bible doctrines. I believe Jehovah's Witnesses are being used by Christ to accomplish the worldwide preaching of the good news that will precede the conclusion of the system of things. And therein lies the problem.

The Watchtower claims that the conclusion of the system, also known as the time of the end, began in 1914. Even though the Watchtower's end-times dogma can be overturned just as effectively as a pioneer can refute the Trinity, when it comes to making sure of all things - really examining the facts - Jehovah's Witnesses are not encouraged to be like the Beroeans. In fact, the easiest way someone in the organization can find themselves sitting in front of a judicial committee facing ex-communication is to openly question the Watchtower's 1914 teaching. I know. I have been there.

As far as studying the record of Jehovah's people in modern times, I am not sure if that is such a good idea. Evidently, Bethel means studying their approved "record," because otherwise there is a lot of unseemly facts that one might dredge up. Speaking of facts, did you know that originally the Watchtower proclaimed that Christ's invisible presence began in 1874 and that Jesus began ruling in his Kingdom in 1878? C.T. Russell adopted the seven times chronology from Adventists theology and supplemented it with pyramidology to pinpoint 1914 as the year God had marked off for the end of the world. Except, obviously, the world did not end then. As the years wore on the Watchtower re-worked 1914 to be the beginning of the end and the invisible parousia and the coming to power of the Kingdom were synched up and moved forward 40 years to 1914. This "adjustment" did not come until about 16 years after 1914.

But ought the truth about the paramount second coming of Christ be so causally shifted from one date to another? Is that not evidence of chicanery?

Then there is the matter of the invisible presence of Christ. From the earliest days of the original Allegheny Bible studies headed up by a young C.T. Russell, even though they were just beginning to unravel the doctrinal errors of the churches regarding the elementary things, Russell came up with this invisible parousia idea and it has never been seriously questioned---not at all, it has only become enshrined as unquestionable truth. But had the Bible Students been more Beroean-like they would have surely noted that at Hebrews 9:28 Paul used the expression "the second time he appears." It is worded similarly in the King James Bible and virtually all translations. Multitudes of people certainly saw Jesus the first time he appeared. How is it possible that the second time he appears will be invisible? Furthermore, the prophecy of Malachi, referring to the coming of the messenger of the covenant, states: "But who will endure the day of his coming, and who will be able to stand when he appears?" - Malachi 3:2

If we honestly consider the facts such as these we will at least consider the possibility that the Watchtower's invisible parousia is not true. And if you really want a 10-ton fact, according to Jehovah's purpose the Watchtower is deluded by an operation of Satan intended to deceive the chosen into accepting a false parousia. As it stands, I am a mere lone voice in the wilderness, but at some point, reality will burst through like a hypersonic missile. Then everyone will have to face the facts.

Only 65 views? Maybe ya'll are getting bored with my daily spiel. To tell you the truth, I am too.
Your reassurance comes from Him who when looking for a Watchman found the only one available.....Robert King!

Your daily thoughts are never boring. Most of us really look forward to them. There are a lot of intelligent people on here with encouragement but they are not as knowledgeable as you and don't convey it as nicely, common sense wise, as you do. So, Robert, sharpen your pencils and keep writing as long as we have this avenue. Please.... most of us really look for YOUR comments.

My routine.....every morning....after my husband and I do our 5 chapters of listening to the bible via audio cause we start between 4.30 and 5:00 a.m. about 7:30 I go out on my screen porch with my coffee and I always listened to at least 2 of Roberts videos from Youtube. I've been doing that for over a year.

I will listen to the videos while jobbing about . I have the volume turned up , and really enjoy it .

If I can't read them immediately, I keep the screen open for when I can come back to it. And I also try to read the attached articles as well. I currently have about 20 tabs open to your various articles and I also print them out to put them into a folder for later reading.

I think August is a big vacation month. People are doing their last vacations before school gets back in. It's been slow with delivering food. People are all out of town playing. They'll be back soon when the weather cools.

Your writing is like surfing to me. One can go out at the same spot time after time, year after year and get the spot completely wired by doing so. Does that get boring? Heck no! I am not saying I am even close to having your "surf spot" wired, no not in the least. I have so so so much further to go in my "taking in knowledge". But I consistently paddle out (read your stuff and watch your videos) and am always super stoked when I am done with my session! Robert you have a style of presentation, both written and on camera that makes my think I am paddling out at a new spot each time I read something you have written or see one of your videos. Regarding this forum and your E-Watchman site, the surf is always pumping and it is a joy to sit in the line-up with you and all my friends here. Thank you for all you do! Your wave brah!

I especially enjoy Roberts videos I can't seem to ever get enough of them, why he thinks he might be whinny and boring is a mystery to me.
