It is interesting and somewhat sad to listen to the BBC hype about Russian war crimes and attaching citizens being not part of the conflict. Well, they are right to report such atrocities, but Britain is not one to preach, given the wholesale destruction of Dresden in Germany in February 21st 1945 where the British burnt and bombed to death 25,000 citizens in one night by creating a firestorm. I think it’s probably a firm guess to suggest that no country on this earth can moralize over war. I think, given our colonial records, Britain will come a good fourth behind Stalin, China, and war time Germany as far as unnecessary slaughter goes. It is only politicians who create war.
