Yes, I wondered about this also. I took the H1N1 vaccine in 2009 (because we were going to an international convention of all things!) I was in the best health of my life at the time, and shortly after that everything took a 180. 😞

I was baptized at this time....and was still enamored by the actual TRUTHS I learned: i.e. God's name, No Trinity, No Hellfire, Paradise on Earth...so that I couldn't see a shift yet. But I do remember, in the early 90's, I was a RP, and really thought it strange when all the UN praising started. I did not know about the WT/UN connection until AFTER Covid started and I 'dared' to venture into 'apostate territory' because I knew for sure we weren't getting truthful answers from the GB!

I became suspicious of vaccinations in the Army when I got sick from a flu injection. From then on, anything having to do with them was suspect for me.
The blood fractions came as a surprise to me. I've talked about this before on here. Blood is blood. If you can dissect it that's fine, but it's still blood. That was my first indication that something wasn't quite right. The truths that you mentioned are still the truths that set us apart. That doesn't change. I had accepted the blood issue on faith at first. Now I realize that it is the correct view but at my baptism it was still a faith based belief and not based on conviction.
You might think that a loosening of the stand on blood would be welcome but by the time the change came around I knew and believed that our stand on God's view on blood was correct. I believe that was about 1993.
Because of this I had to re-examine what I had learned to make sure I still believed everything else. Somewhere around that time was when I began to notice the Watchtower speaking less critically of the UN.
 
When they started talking about blood fractionation as your own choice, I asked if we could donate blood now too. No of course not! Okay, I said, but would Jehovah approve of non-witnesses donating blood? Well no, not really. Okay, I understood that, because I had learned that too, but my next question was: Where do those blood fractions come from? Answer: I didn't understand it and didn't have to think about it that deeply, oh yeah, naturally. Let that now always be my problem until this day; think too deeply; no elder wanted to sign my card after that!

This made me laugh. When you catch someone in a lie, why do they always get mad? Too many times we get answers that are really only a message to move on and drop the subject. Don't look at that man behind the curtain. At least part of it is a defense mechanism. Don't look at it and it will go away.

A hospital liaison elder was talking through updated acceptable blood taking, a couple of years ago. He said your blood can be stored during the length of the operation and put back. I couldn’t believe I was hearing him right !

They also compromised and let the rank and file in Bulgaria I believe, take blood transfusions and not get disfellowshipped because it enabled WT to attain religious status and have the governments tolerate their neutrality stand.

If GB really want us to "blend" in then why was the local needs item at my meeting last night, about being careful about how casual our dress and grooming is becoming? The brother made it quite clear that he was having trouble distinguishing between brothers working on the carts and the general public. I've read comments from brothers and sisters from all over the world "justifying" all these changes from the GB as being " it's Jehovah "protecting" us so we don't get "recognised " as jws" Maybe the elder who took that item last night didn't get the memo about "blending in" with non jws. All I could think while he was saying this stuff was "thank goodness I found this forum" 😀

The eighties , with Thatcher and Reagan , saw the rise of Neo Liberalism , Globalism , Expansionism , Zionism . They had all been there before , but the two really jump started it all again . Cuts in help for the most needy , while giving Tax breaks for the most wealthy . They also deregulated the banks , which led to the 2008 financial crash . Lots of countries were demonized , as well as being treated to a taste of Britannia`s rule . And it was the fault of the sick and most in need within the U.S. and Britain , oh , along with the migrants .

I was talking to Ms_Ladyblue about Chile just a couple of days ago . The young people rose up to better themselves , and for a short time they did . I know . Jeremy Corbyn , and John McDonnell , went to the north of Ireland and spoke to all sides for ten years , telling them to lay down their arms , and talk .
