About self defense

I don't believe so. It's a cheap 2.5-10x magnification with laser scope from Amazon. The flash hider is surefire so doubles as a muzzle break for the 20" ar10, bayonet lug extender and foregrips installed and a light is attached on the right side, replaced the standard grip with x2 scorpion
Trijicon Acogs go for well over a thousand.
What make is your rifle if I may ask.

Originally I wanted a 16" s&w m&p10 but when I held one at a gun shop i didn't like the weight distribution thought a longer one with a foregrip would be better went for a custom build ordering the parts one by one then having them assembled when I had everything. The lower receiver is tenesse arms hybrid polymer and brass, the assembled upper receivers aero precision, fluted barrel and bolt carrier were budget went for a bear creek nitride fluted, the handguards is 12.5 inch presma, the stocks magpul moe, buffers kits aero precision enhanced carbine.

I’m currently babysitting a SW M&P rifle for my dumbazz son in law who got his foid card taken away on account of a felony charge.
Hopefully he’ll never get it reinstated and I’ll get to hang on to it.
Nice thing about black rifles is you can quickly sell one for decent money especially as people perceive more gun controls are coming.

True. Maybe if I have it painted a non scary color I can tell people to relax it self identifies as a Nerf gun.

Having grown up one of JW's and knowing all too well the over arching feeling from the automaton's that are R&F JW's I have had my feelings on the matter reformed completely. When it comes to subjects like this I think people who held a certain point of view and changed their minds, they usually and much more informed on the subject matter.

The ignorance that comes from the anit-gun stance in the world is not unlike that held by R&F JW's. They believe what they have been told to believe. And that pretty much sums they thinking up entirely on the subject. Hence the idea that rifles are loaded with "clips" and that their is such a thing as an "assault rifle" but not "assault fists." Not to mention they have no idea what an assault rifle is, and they have to bend over backwards to make words mean what they want them to mean rather than what they actually mean.

I had become more and more educated about fire-arms as the years went by, primarily from just looking into them and what I was told by people who actually owned guns. The turning point for me came when my next door neighbors dog began to display extremely aggressive behavior and kept trying to bite me through the fence, and lunging at the fence at me when I came outside. The real problem was the dog kept getting out. The last straw for me was when my daughter was maybe 4 years old, and we were about to take her for a walk, and this dog was outside and when it saw it came after me. Fortunately my wife got our daughter back in the house and I faced down the dog in a very hair raising Mexican standoff where the dog kept trying to get behind me to bite me. BTW, it was a Pit Bull. After several harrowing couple minutes with me lunging back at the dog, while wearing flip flops so i had to bend down and hold my hands out like I was going to grapple with it, the owner came outside to try to get the dog, at which point it got even more aggressive. Finally she got her dog, but that led to two things, I bought a shot gun, and realized I couldn't conceal carry a shot gun, so I also got a hand gun and a rifle, which I built. Along with this I decided I was going to protect my kids regardless.

I agree with what others have stated, I didn't get guns to join a Militia at some point, just to protect my family. And I agree with Bill, they are also going to have a problem if they tried to force vaccinated me or my family. Any way that's my feelings on the matter.

@kenmuldoon55 I built an AR-15. I bought a completed Palmetto State Armory Lower, and built the rest out of pretty high end parts. I used a Ballistic Advantage .223 Wylde stainless steel barrel, Fail Zero bolt carrier group, Stngr Handguard, with a Sig Sauer Red Dot with a Primary Arms 3x magnifier. I replaced the stock and pistol grip and charging handle with Bravo Company parts.

I have a gun, small 38 I think it is, my house was broken into and I was attacked years ago so I now have a gun and I feel more safe with it and I'm not afraid to use it if I have to! 🤷‍♀️Let me tell you there is nothing more scary than someone breaking down your back door and u have nothing to protect yourself! Nope never again! ...Jamie's got a gun!

Nice. I remember some of your recommendations were pretty good.

I have always been a big believer in running away from fights and trouble. And I was always a pretty fast runner too. But now that time is catching up with me and I am slowing down, I think I might let my wife get a gun. She tells me she's a good shot too.

but do you practice? Can you disassemle it enough to clean it? I don't like giving free advertising but I bought iTarget Pro for my Glock 17 and it works well. Shows you real time if you're ballpark. While those things are excellent training tools you still need to live fire it.

I bought iTarget Pro
I find those things to be pretty dubious for a couple reasons. First of all it uses a laser to line up your shots, which would be fine if your gun has a separate laser. So it's not gonna help you learn to line up your sights properly. (I mean I guess if you could train yourself to use the sights instead of the laser to line up your sights, it might help in that way.) It would probably help with trigger control, that would be the biggest benefit I would see for it. It's of course not going to do anything with helping you handle recoil. The other problem I see with it, is how do you "reload" it? Doesn't it want to eject it each time you "fire" it. And with a .38 she would have to move it to the corresponding cylinder each time she fired it, or I guess she could spin the cylinder, that probably wouldn't be as bad as a semi-auto pistol.

Any way, I'm not saying any of this with any kind of critique as if I have used it, these are just all the questions I would like to see answered that never are, on the product sellers website.

This reminds me of the advice I got from my Father who'd never been in a fight when I was getting picked on when I was a kid. His advice was to run away, and when they got tired hit them, and then run away some more. I guess he'd watched too many Jerry Lewis movies. LOL.

When I was in High School I had one kid that was in one of my classes that wouldn't leave me alone. This went on the entire year. I didn't want to fight the guy, because I was pretty sure even if i won, it was not going to be without his share of landed blows. Towards the end of the year I decided I could put up with it for a little longer and the likely hood that he would be in one of my classes the following year was pretty slim. Well the following year he wasn't in any of my classes, right at the very beginning of the year, I had to go past him in the Hallway, and he shot a paperclip at me with a rubber band. I realized until I fought him he wouldn't leave me alone. I fought him, I won and he never messed with me again!

I hear you. Endurance isn't great but my relatives and I were always pretty good at sprinting and reaction time. I don't really have any places to flee to presently so if there was chaos would probably stick around for a while here if it's reasonable. I do recommend people keep a gas can, a tent, a few lbs of non perishable food and any other supplies that come to mind in their vehicle just in case.

Sounds like quite a worthy piece.
My vision isn’t like it used to be so it’s a basic shotgun for me.

This is before I changed out the pistol grip and stock and charging handle. I also have the very nice VG6 Epsilon Compensator (made by Aero Precision)...unfortunately they were out of stock of the stainless steel version, and have since discontinued the Cage device, which was supposed to reduce concussion...it was supposed to make it a lot quieter from what I understand...maybe that's why it was discontinued. I also added BUI, since this picture. Oh, and with a 40 rd mag...the only 40 rd I have, I have 5 30 rd mags!

Me too. Walther pdp 9mm with a Holosun red dot sight and a TLR rail light. I would not miss. 😉

Do you get gas blowing back in your face when you fire? (Maybe my arms are too short?)

In matters of self defence I used To keep my mother in law in the house and fully loaded at all times. If anyone were to come in she would sit them down and talk them into submission and force feed them cups of tea until they were pleading to go to the toilet. Once in, she would lock the door from the outside and carry on talking. It was a ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ and would be illegal in your country, so I can understand why you settled for a more humane method. My father kept a musket (true!), and was rather ‘old school’, but I wanted something far more effective. You don’t need a license, and a mother-in-law is generally safe around children as they quickly become immune to the sound of her voice and in any event, can be sent outside to play. The only drawback to keeping an ’Assault Mother In Law‘ is that you have to keep oiling her with gin in the evening which can get rather expensive, but I found that priming her with just one glass of gin was enough anaesthetic and I could reload her with cheap Russian vodka after the initial oiler of gin. I suppose every weapon has to have its ammunition, and pro-rata, gin and vodka are cheaper than lead and gunpowder!

After just shy of 5 years of karate I'm taking kobudo classes now in addition. I'm hardly unarmed though 😏 though I'm sure during the 7k annointed ones ministry for it's duration before there capture there followers when in proximity would be more well protected than one could be by any human means.
Unfortunately I can't arm myself here in Australia so I have to rely on my marshal arts which is not much help when the state police are armed against the general population. Nice collection of freedom seeds, treasure that freedom.
