Hey everyone I’m Robert from New Zealand. 72.5yrs old.

About 56, 57 a minister visited the school I was at every week or 2 weeks? Not sure. However something I do remember is as clear as if it was yesterday. He said that we don’t really die, Just this ( our body ) he called it a suitcase, dies. Something in us keeps on living. The body dies but the soul keeps on living. The idea kept rattling around in my head. I liked the idea of living forever, but had a problem with it. Something just didn’t sit right. One day or night? I was looking into the sky trying to image forever, and wondered whats all this floating around somewhere forever? Why can’t I live here ( On the earth ) like this ( the suitcase ) forever? I was not into this floating around bit. Fast forward to 74? in my twenties I’m a wannabe tank man, working as a cross-cutter in a logging crew. Few months in a new member ( JW ) had joined the gang. Sometimes he would witness to the gang at break time, in response to questions. One time I told him about the suitcase trick. I said I liked the idea of living forever but here on the earth not float around somewhere. He grabs his bible and shows me Ezekiel – 18 : 4. Say what? ( That lying so and so ) he also showed me, “The righteous will inherit the earth and reside forever upon it” also Isaiah 65, about personality changes, and the story of the crim whom Jesus promised “you will be with me in paradise.” I was hooked on JW. You might say that I got in it for the money, ( so to speak ). But it was a few years before I went ahead. Now its the year 2022 a JW but no longer active in the congregation since 02. Worshipping Jehovah ( after a fashion ) from out in the wilderness. I hope that many more Jehovah’s Witnesses will wake up to the Governing Body’s hypocrisy.

Kia ora my brother! I used Aloha because that is common where I hail from. I did not know Aortearoa is the name for New Zealand and that it means "Long White Cloud". No clue at all. So much to learn, so little time. I have always wanted to visit Aotearoa!

You're right that is not the name for NZ and yes it means "land of the long white cloud." Able Tasman a dutch called the place New Zealand. Named after a place in Holland or somewhere over there called Zealon? You probably already know that too?

Hi Robert, Thank you for the intro. I’m Medi-tator’s wife and we’re in Hawaii. I see you mention that you’ve been inactive since 2002, but I’ve been wondering how the friends in New Zealand have been doing since your Prime Minister is so controlling. Are you still in contact with any of the congregations?

My contact with the congregation is zoom. and they're going along with what the GB says. I've been emailing elders and a couple long standing publishers. about what I think. They all think I'm in need of spiritual help. Cognitive dissonance prevents them from seeing that I'm trying to help them. One elder said that he views me as an apostate and said don't send any more. Couple days later I sent some info. he responded similarly and added that I should write a letter to my congregation saying that I want to dis associate my self. He said that he will forward my letter to a congregation near me, obviously he does not know which congregation I zoom into. I ignored him. Associates outside the truth seem to going along to get along for various reasons. I have heard that people are getting checked at traffic lights for vax compliance. Apart from that everyone is doing their own thing.

an adult recruit, eh? ya don’t say! you don’t see those often. i was an adult recruit myself. My big money draw was that hell was the grave. i had been lied to all those years just like you and the suitcase body.

Being a JW was fun- until it wasn’t. The GB have absolutely perfected hypocrisy- the artful liars that they are, and do so with such careful inflection, speaking in hypnotic, rhythmic tones, with this affect- i can’t quite put my finger on it- they speak to us as if we were little children.

By 2021 i couldn’t go inactive (they really don’t let you go inactive anymore- the elders are purists by trade) so it was bye bye Watchtower©.

Glad to meet you Mr. New Zealand. May i call you Robert for short?
