How would you feel about working for employers in christendom?

Yeah I’ve seen postings to coach at things like Catholic schools and other denominations but never applied for those ones. But since my options are severely limited at this point, I am considering it. One thing I consider is that I’m really working for the athletic department, which works for the school, which sort of works for the church. So it’s not directly tied to religion. Still pondering over these things. Thank you all for sharing.
I was in the same boat. I don't regret my choice. You will do what's best for you.
Thank goodness Jehovah reads hearts ;)

I know that it shouldn’t be this way, but another factor is considering how you will be treated by JWs and JW family if you make these sort of decisions. Many want to impose their own conscience on others. I know we can’t let that deter us, but it still makes these decisions more difficult.

Ahhhh yes. I see what you mean.
There was definitely a time even just recently (2yrs ago) that I would not have even considered such a job.
I have DA myself from the org since the push of the jabs.
I have no contact with other JWs. I have told the ones I do talk too about my decision & left it up them how they want to treat me.
I don't have family that are JW only a distant cousin whom I never see & only met about 6 yrs ago.
My husband was never baptized. I was always the sister with the 'unbelieving mate' 🙄

I hope things work out for you.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us tax collector's, criminals and prostitutes.

(Matthew 7:22, 23) Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Would you tell Jesus not to focus on the negatives, but only on the positives?
You could warn him that it will bring him down to Satan's level of having a terrible mindset.

Isn't your post "The great delusion has come full circle!" 100% focusing on the negative?

:)
There are sinners who are willing to listen and change and then there are sinners who refuse to change and are stuck in their ways. Jesus Christ is perfect, he could read people's hearts and knew about their sins without even knowing them. None of us have that ability. So that's the big difference. It's why you let Jehovah and Jesus do the judging because they have the power to do so. And nobody wants to be around a negative person, it's why I say it's a terrible mindset to have. Still, it doesn't mean we avoid the warning signs from all that is happening in this world. It is depressing but that's how Satan wants us to feel. To feel bitter, depressed, angry, sad and vengeful. Instead of being rotten, you want to strive to have the fruitage of the spirit even though it may be a challenge but that's part of the spiritual battle.

Amazing that I came across this post tonight.
As some know, I was one of the ones fired from my hospital job (housekeeping covid rooms) for not taking the jab.
3 weeks after being fired I did manage to get another job.....shocking right !!?? But I did. A warehouse for Toyota. That lasted just about a year. November would have been 1 yr there.
Again, I was fired. Sept 8 this year. Long story, not jab related.
ANYWAYS, I've applied to several jobs since being fired again. It's not been easy. So many places don't want to hire no matter how short staffed they are unless your 'fully vaccinated' 🙄
So a friend of mine (in the same situation) told me to apply to the school board, catholic school board. They don't require or even ask if you are inaculated, jabbed.
After a couple weeks of thinking about it not thinking about it I finally decided I didn't have much choice. I need to work & pay my bills.
I got the job, actually 2 offers to work for the school.
The one job was for an EA (teachers assistant, I'm a PSW), & the other for custodian.
I took the custodian job. This way I am not having to engage in the holiday celebrations the classes do with the kids.

Did I beat myself up over having to make the choice I did?? Absolutely!!!
Now I've made peace with myself. I only have Jehovah to answer to, & that sits ok with me in my heart & mind.
Bless you my sister.

I’ve seen opportunities at schools that are affiliated with various churches of some sort. I haven’t applied to any of those kinds, but I’ve been giving it more consideration. Working in a specific department and a role with nothing to do as far as religion is concerned seems to be a bit different. But I also consider the representation aspect. Have any of you given consideration to similar situations regarding employment?
During the plandemic and my chronic unemployment, I applied for an IT position with some Catholic org or another. In the app process they even asked if I believed in God, etc. I had no problem with it but each one's conscience should guide them. I did believe in God, after all...just not their God. :)

It went really well apparently. It was almost 2 hours long, and within a half hour after he emailed me to set up a second interview on Monday.

The only real "rule" with this school is that you are to make a commitment not to drink alcohol. The interviewer told me though that he doesn't agree with it, but basically they just don't want their staff to be seen out at bars and such.

2 hour interview and a quick call back...That's a real good sign Bro. I spend 5 out of 7 days out of town and don't drink when I'm away. You won't be missing a thing, in fact, your health might get better. But if you want to drink remember George Thorogood's advice:

Lol good one.

I don't really drink much, and I don't go out to drink anyways. Might have a drink or two when the stomach feels sour, if I just have a taste for a beer, or a social occasion which might add up to just a few times a year. I recently heard from Dr Matthew Walker that even a serving is going to negatively impact sleep. I experimented with this and I can say that it's definitely true, especially in my case who is someone who already has some sleep issues.

Do you travel far for work?

I know I shouldn't be, but can't help but worry what others might think if I end up getting offered and taking this job. I'll pray and try to take things one day at a time.
You might like to consider that witnesses have no problem going to professionals for help, and so working for people in other religions is not uncommon or wrong to do. The GB like to make out that our faith is so frail we may get side-tracked. If our faith is that weak, then clearly watchtower is not doing a good job are they?! I had witnesses as clients on serval occasions and used to have long conversations with them about the bible. If they had known that their social worker was a shunned and inactive member, I doubt they would have shut the door on me and gone without the help they needed. We are in a world of non-believers. I have never let it get me down or lost faith because of it. I hope you get your job - just do not get caught out at a bottle shop buying a thousand dollars worth of Magellan’s whisky like a certain member of the GB! Nothing happened to him, so at least you know you won’t get any flack from the witnesses if you do.

Exactly. I was asked if I knew the school board is a faith based education facility. I said yes. Then they asked me a few other questions, I told the, religion is a personal matter & that I respect everyone’s beliefs. I wasn’t lying.
The Catholic kids aren’t any different than the public school kids. Just last week 7 (catholic) kids at lunch purchased pills & all ended up in emerg. My point, you have not so smart catholic kids & not so smart public kids. They are all doing the same 💩. Soooo, my conscience doesn’t beat me up so much about my employment choice. Besides, I know that all people aren’t catholic or even religious who attend.
I was surprised to learn just how many new Canadian citizens automatically are placed in the catholic system.

Nobody goes to bars anymore anyways…..do they ??? haha if I’m going to have some drinks I wanna be close to my bed lolol

For me, I can’t worry about things like that anymore. Things have changed so much in these past 2 years.
Again, like you said, pray about It. Jehovah knows US Personally. Others only see what they want to see.
Matt. 7:3-5.

I drive to a town about 2.5 hours away on Monday and drive back on Friday. I live out of hotels during the week and eat at the company's expense. Some people would hate that but I kind of like it.

Yeah, that's the thing, the whole stumbling others thing. Keep it on the QT and you should be fine. If it doesn't bother your conscience...and you need to work in a very difficult economy then I can't see how you can be faulted. As long as they don't start pushing you to participate in their religion.

It depends on how religious they are. As a sports teacher you shouldn't have much of a problem. If JWs judge you for your conscience decision then they are at fault not you, and there's no controlling that. Thinking about it another way, you are likely the only one there with the wonderful privilege and ability to share truth if the circumstance allows. And I've found there to be nothing so heartwarming as to get the opportunity to talk to a receptive young one about Jehovah and Jesus.
"Indeed, who will harm you if you become zealous for what is good?14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are happy. However, do not fear what they fear, nor be disturbed.15 But sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone who demands of you a reason for the hope you have, but doing so with a mild temper and deep respect.16 Maintain a good conscience, so that in whatever way you are spoken against, those who speak against you may be put to shame because of your good conduct as followers of Christ." (1 Peter 3:13-16).
