Music With a Message (Positive please)

I think it was Bagdad Bill who asked if anyone had any gospel style music but I don’t recall his exact description. I do love the Kingdom Melodies, especially the new ones, but there is also modern music that has a message of good bible principles without being too much of Christendom and so I thought I would invite all to contribute so that we can all enjoy some clean music. As the bible tells us, we cannot get too much goodness. To start off I want to post a song by John Legend called “Preach” and it really puts to music the principle that we find at James 1:23-25: “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, and he goes away and immediately forgets what sort of person he is. But the one who peers into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and continues in it has become, not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work; and he will be happy in what he does“.

The scripture and the song are a great encouragement to me to keep the focus on how I can better apply christian principles. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

YOU NEVER HEARD OF LAWRENCE WELK??? He was BIG way back in the day, in the early 1950’s through the 70’s I believe. He was also a bandleader and accordionist. Played that ”champagne music.” Every Saturday eve in many family homes they would have his show turned on, watching him direct the band as they played, sometimes with the bubbles floating around as the music played on.

@Medi-tator & @Driven, I wasn’t a big fan of his either. We just didn’t have many choices back then what came on the TV. Oh, those were the days. 🎶 Hey, isn’t there a song with that title? 🎶

When my oldest daughter would misbehave I use to tell her, if you don't listen to me I'm going to make you sit & watch Lawrence Welk! Lolol ohhhhh boy she would cry then 🤣🤭
My m-i-l use to watch him.
 
For those who may or may not like Irish music, this song called Erin Shore, meaning Irish shore, is done by The Corrs, an Irish family band. My daughter and I got into Irish music back in the 90’s. This one was one of my favorites. Beautiful performance. ❤️
