Robert, do you drink from the wine and eat from the bread in the congregation? And if you do, they don't tell you anything for doing it? I ask it because of your situation that we all know. I remember that every year I go, the make like the same "warning". If you are not part of those who go to heaven, please don't drink from the wine and do not eat the bread. And if they do not know you are one of them or a completely unknown person, or even a disfellowshipped person, how do they see that? I have always been curious about it. How those who don't agree with the org completely and do not like what they do in some cases celebrate the Lord's evening meal? Drinking from the wine and eating the bread is essential to go to heaven. Thank you.

I do. I sit in the back and take the cup when they hand it to me and then leave right after the concluding prayer

Funny, I noticed 6-8 brothers with beards, so at least I didn't stand out in that respect anymore

Lol. OK. Haha. Yeah, very uncomfortable. Haha.
I have never, ever, felt comfortable partaking, even before I was DFed. It is just something I feel compelled to do because it is what Jesus wants.

It is a bit ironic that I used to be asked to give the Memorial talk frequently. I remember I was once even invited to give the Memorial talk at another congregation as a guest speaker. But since I started partaking I sit in the back row and listen and then split :cautious:

This is the speaker at our memorial tonight. Beard, aloha shirt, the works LOL.

I would say that more than half the brothers had beards and easily half the sisters were wearing pants. Most brothers had on aloha shirts but there were a few hold outs who wore coat and tie.

Here is what happened at our local Memorial. They introduced the speaker as Brother Martinez but that wasn’t his name. He was Brother Maston. Completely different name. In his talk he said that we would be celebrating the Memorial until the last of the remnant on earth receive their heavenly reward. And yet the scriptures say that the Memorial will be observed until Jesus comes as stated in Robert King’s article, “Until He Comes”.

1 Corinthians 11:26: “For whenever you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he comes.”

I forget the song they sang but it was basically saying that the anointed ones are already approved by Jehovah. All 22,000+. And the song made the claim that Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovah’s holy nation. Seems a bit problematic since they still need to be cleansed.

But it was nice to see the Brothers and Sisters. And, there was a huge push to “encourage” those just there for the Memorial to keep coming to all the meetings. I am glad that I went but there really was no spiritual food served.

Ditto was nice seeing the Bros. First song was chokeworthy and our speaker went 15 overtime repeating himself. He did the infamous pyramid mason sign like 20 times but as he’s a simple tradesman I figure it was from watching too many gb talks on . Org.
Everyone was very pleasant despite attending a distant from home cong and we were invited to a debrief with friends we knew.
Coincidence was such I sat beside a lovely young sister whom I had an amazing conversation with.
She and husband were rabid anti clot shot and she was seriously???? The gb position on all sorts including Tony Morris and even 1914. Needless to say I quoted e watchman etc so will see what transpires.
I felt uplifted by events and arrived home at midnight———- unusual for me. First meeting in 14 months with positive results.

I enjoyed attending the Hall for the Memorial, I miss being apart of the brotherhood but it comes at a cost that I can no longer pay. Interesting to see so many brothers with beards. I had a beard as a witness back in the day (still do) and was regarded as spiritually weak because of the fuzz on my face. The GB rubber stamps beards and you can now be a spiritual man with fuzz, as I said the price is too high to pay, it's like living in the "twilight zone".

I never heard the Memorial explained in this way! It is a perfect fit and makes perfect sense. Something else I have been considering regarding the Memorial is how Jesus dealt with Judas. He didn’t directly confront him but he did make a statement that greatly disturbed his apostles.

Matthew 26:20-25: “When evening came, he was reclining at the table with the 12 disciples. While they were eating, he said: ‘Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.’ Being very much grieved at this, each and every one began to say to him: ‘Lord, it is not I, is it?’ In reply he said: ‘The one who dips his hand with me into the bowl is the one who will betray me. True, the Son of man is going away, just as it is written about him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.’ Judas, who was about to betray him, replied: ‘It is not I, is it, Rabbi?’ Jesus said to him: ‘You yourself said it.’”

It’s interesting that both Judas and Peter sinned. Judas‘ sin was premeditated and planned but Peter gave in to fear and weakness. One sin was forgivable and one sin was not forgivable. When Jesus replied to Judas that he himself said it, I have to wonder if that infuriated Judas to the point that he felt justified in betraying Jesus.
Interesting points.
