Saw the season premiere in theaters with my sister she hadn't watched the show previously it was pretty good she liked most of it but was understandably irritated by the use of Adonai (lord) rather than any variation of the divine name in the episodes for me the only thing that irked me particularly was towards the end when they have Jesus misarribute an Isaiah passage on paradise to James the Less's heavenly reward.

I don't know if I posted this video on Dallas Jenkins explaining The Chosen. In it he's answers questions and concerns people have about the show. I have to say I have a tremendous amount of respect for the way he is handling this series. If you haven't seen the show yet, give this video a watch first.

Thanks so much for posting this video. To me this video shows the quality of humility that any true Christain would display. I have truly enjoyed this show and want to watch it with my daughter.

The fact he pointed out that people have asked him if he was a Trinitarian must mean Trinity people watched the show and got confused since he seems to avoid Trinity references. Even in the video, he refers to Jesus as the son of God. Dallas is almost certainly Trinitarian. Yet it's almost as if he has chosen not to insert his personal beliefs to make the show as good as it can be. That's really quite remarkable.

I don't think "it's almost as if he has chosen not to insert his personal beliefs". I think he made that clear that they were not doing that. And after watching the video and the show so far, I can totally see that is true. One thing I have really enjoyed is how "humanizing" they made not only the apostles but especially Jesus. I can find very little fault with the show. It's so good I am willing to over look anything so far I didn't agree with.

Absolutely. I never even thought that much about the apostles. As terrible as it sounds I always just kind of thought of them as side characters. Like the kind that exist in video games that are needed to carry out some quest. Silly as it may be, I simply never thought of them being regular everyday people like us. Of course they were, right?! What else would they be? Again. I never thought that deeply on them. To me they always seemed more like a vague image of some far off world in an age long passed.

It doesn't come up often but the trinitarian references are definitely there. One episode in season 2 I think had a bunch. I fear the trinitarian references will become prevalent at the end of the series which will obscure the ransom as it always done. But until then, there is so much good and beneficial to meditate on in this series that is presented honestly.

I saw a billboard next to the highway the other day with the actor that played Jesus on it and big words: "Get used to different." (A very well placed line that Jesus said in the series.)

I share this concern too. Whatever Trinity references have been made must be really brief and vague because I don't even remember them. But yeah, I'm afraid they'll get more pronounced towards the end. But I'm cautiously optimistic. Dallas has done a phenomenal job so far. If he handles the end well it could become a timeless classic.

And I respect their efforts (as they appear) to try a yield away from commercialization but more towards making this available to as many people as possible. Lets hope its not ruined with some big Trinity reveal at the end.

The trinity references were mostly in the first episode of season 2 in response to people being critical of the first season of the show questioning whether Dallas and the production were trinitatian or not. In a subsequent interview Dallas had of the actor that plays Jesus he tried to insert/affirm the wording of the dual nature (more common) version of trinitarianism in the discussion to put the mobs at ease.

I have to agree that the Trinity references were too vague to even notice.

Putting that little tidbit aside, what have you or anyone here think of the first six episodes of season three so far? Theyā€™ve been absolutely fantasticā€¦especially the last four episodes. The moving scenes when Jesus cast out the demons from the man possessed, cured the woman with the flow of blood, and brought back to life Jairusā€™ daughter. In these episodes if you noticed what was happening prior to Jesus doing these miracles was so moving! Itā€™s like you could actually put yourself there as one who was looking on. Sometimes it could got very emotional for me.

Then episode six was truly amazing because even after showing Jesus doing all those miraculous healings being moved by this again was nothing short of amazing. But when Jesus proceeded to preach to the crowd, the way he took command, got the attention of his audience but didnā€™t flinch once nor was he intimidated by those religious leaders! I seriously felt like I was there listening intently and hanging on his every word!

What also stood to me were the parts that we do know the Bible has recordedā€¦.although to be cautiously optimistic is a good thing. IMO Dallas Jenkins has done a phenomenal job thus far and I agree if he continues till the end in his endeavor, following the ā€œwordā€ I believe it could become a timeless classic as well.

I have to admit to being completely captivated by the scenes where Jesus performs his miracles. There is something about the series that is almost magnetic. Maybe it is because of the gritty simplicity or maybe it is because the world needs the humble love of Jesus and his message and it has been lost in the institutionalized religiosity of our times.

All those miracles of healing, feeding the hungry also the power over nature, the command of the seas also over the fig tree that did not fruit! These things give confidence in His return and the setting up of true worship in Zion! That mountain where all the nations say 'Let's go up to the mountain of Jehovah'. The scriptures are replete with book and chapters pertaining to this time...This time of Zion the 'setting things straight'. Covenants of Jehovah with nature with the animals and elements in this very coming time of Christ! Bethel must be envious of the peace we enjoy here..chortle! I'm sure they send ones to try and disturb it so visiting guests observe disharmony instead of us showing gratefulness of being informed of the 'Daughter of Jerusalem', and the 'Man of Lawlessness!?

Great season so far. I second the emotion on the miracles. The scene where he resurrected the little girl. I can't even imagine what that would have been like to her parents. They portrayed it so well. Also it was hilarious how Jesus stepped in and asked the wailers what they were doing? Dude. Stop screwing around. Get out of here! Loved it.
