What are we reading 📚

We all tried everything to get a bible study...didn't we... I do miss them bro's and sis and the happy times on the ministry....Our laughter would echo through the estates......Back to Josephus and Hislop they got alot right but........Thank Christ for scriptures because it's the only golden truth on earth. Lovely stuff WhiteStone.
Harley Schlanger quotes Schiller: "A great moment has met a little people" He said this after observing the French revolution deploying the American revolution to disasterous effect. An excellent statement for today I thought?

Russian's are the new Jews to be liquidated. YouTube informs journalist "You must only talk of Ukraine, not what is happening in Donbass".

If anyone wondered why several church fathers mentioned the Phoenix in their writings including both Clement's (of Rome and of Alexandria) the word Phoenix shows up in a verse of Job in the greek septuagint. Might have been why phoenixes appear in several jewish apocryphas that seem to have more of an alexandrian influence and why later jewish folklore featured a bird counterpart of Behemoth and Leviathan called Ziz.

The epistle of Barnabas mentioned the phoenix. It was really a good book for learning the moral principles. But to be honest, because of that, it waned my trust.

I don't fully understand your last sentence. I do agree Barnabas has good parts especially in the moral instruction. I was referring to the phoenixes in 2 Enoch and 3 Baruch when mentioning them in apocrypha

I meant Barnabas used the myth of the phoenix as an illustration to associate with the resurrection that made me to not trust all of its contents except the moral teachings.

I tried to searched the phoenix but it may have been on another book.

Robert, which Bible translation do you use? Thanks
I use the New World Translation almost exclusively. I like the feature the online NWT has where you can cross-check any verse with the Greek Interlinear, King James, Bible in Living English, American Standard, and the Emphasized Bible. If I am doing a deep dive I might check out other translations on Bible Gateway, but just to read I prefer the NWT.

Great! thanks

I'm still chipping away at this 807 page book, "The Genesis 6 Conspiracy", by Gary Wayne. Wayne gave an excellent, in-depth interview all about "pharmakeia" in the docu-series, "The Cult of the Medics", which made me more interested in reading this book. I'm on page 467 now and finding 90% of it absolutely fascinating.

Like fake news you pick away the propaganda to see what the message really is? I should think it will reveal the times and their societal set up...all useful. You can never without study give defence on a subject. If there is anything of interest I hope you will share?
About a quarter through it it's an amusingly exaggerated work especially on Joseph's handsomeness and Aseneth's beauty though not on the cartoon level of the fake Jasher. So far from the text I can discern it was a romance novel of the late second temple period of the deuteronomist/second isaiah faction of jewish thought that was modified a few centuries later by Christians to include some Christian motifs and themes. This is not surprising as while there are many copies of the text in greek, syriac, slavonic and armenian apparently at least ninety in total the syriac Christians from my experience were among the most obvious/clumsy forgers when it came to writing texts or modifying existing apocrypha.

I can understand now the emphasis on latin and greek in early public school teaching: Once you know these you can decipher most words in english......What surprised me was when decyphering hieroglyphic egyptian symbols....the eye and a deer they say symbolises the word 'idea'..Now I said to myself 'oh! Come on' these experts are saying this, is it really that simple? Chortle?

Finished the story first act is basically Aseneth seeing Joseph having a brief conversation pretty much perceiving him as a demigod or something and moved by her obsession to the point of destroying her idols and fasting for a week the second act she talks about the God of Israel with a level of knowledge that while not impossible (takes place a few months after Jacob and his other sons moved to Egypt) is quite a stretch she prays and then Michael the archangel appears and purifies her/prepares her to wed Joseph in a sequence that includes honeycombs and bees this is the part that was most clearly added to by Christians as there are references to the bread and wine of the Lord's evening meal. In the third act after marrying Joseph Pharoah's son is jealous attempts to persuade Simeon and Levi to get rid of Joseph fails then attempts to persuade Dan and Gad through deception and succeeds they fail however when several of Joseph's other brothers including Benjamin intervene Pharoah's son is wounded and died a few days later. Pharoah is portrayed as dying from grief a little later at 109 years old (Joseph died at 110 can't depict Pharoah as living longer can we) and Joseph rules Egypt Pharoah's younger son succeeding him when he dies. It's entertaining but can't take it seriously unless there's at least two layers of interpolation and edits over og version. Even the frequent uses of God Most High which usually point to greater antiquity don't sell me on an authentic core because the story shows too much anachronistic familiarity with Deuteronomy but through the confused second temple era lens.

So far not read much my neck has seized. But interesting was knowledge that Carthage was needlessly sacked. They had surrendered and laid down their arms to Rome! The desolator was taking shape in the methods of Rome why? I found previous empires assimilated and gave opportunity to their captives! Daniel describes Roman methods such! Dan9:26. "What is decided upon is desolations!" Oh! Something else GP: Socrates was deep state to infiltrate Plato's teachings! I hope I am giving truthful reports. All my stuff comes from Canadian Patriot and Cynthia Chun/ LaRouche....and Schiller Institute all ..same thing. I envy your appetite brother and more so I bet your retention is holding sound. Surely what every good witness needs.

My school was very hot on Greek and Latin and employed effective teaching tools for us, generally, just beatings, but occasionally fists - but that was the history teacher. Dicky, our Latin teacher used to grab hold of your cheek or ear and twist. Used to cause blood blisters in the mouth. I can still read a little Latin today. Does not help one little bit, unless one is in conversation with a surgeon.

Chortle: The Morse code teacher I was pupil to gave a whack for every dot dash got wrong...I fortunately was ok but it caused many to drop out. And we put it down to Victorian values! It's followed down British culture since set up of House of Lords 12th C Oxford etc. Same beast.
