Well, there you go...nothing they say is actually scriptural. Jesus did not appointed the GB, and as I have contended for years the Elders. The only evidence we have they have been appointed to anything is as i have said so many times, "all we have to do is ask them" and by their own testimony they will claim they are appointed. Not to mention, more and more often, as they quote themselves, I.E. WT as their "source" for "Biblical truth".as long as what they say is scriptural.
Jesus was not telling his apostles to pray in the public places, or add extra long fringes, or all the other things they did which was going beyond what was written. Jesus was talking about the things they said, that came from the Bible, that they themselves were not doing. That's where the saying, "Do as they say not as they are doing" comes from.
I have to respectfully disagree with RK on this. Think about this, why is it that the Pharisees cannot be resurrected? You can make the argument it is because they killed Jesus, but they had to have the mental attitude that allowed them to do that first. So it was their mentality that allowed themselves to elevate themselves, in the same way that Korah did, when he went against Moses. Korah was killed essentially for blasphemy.hang on to the idea that they are committing blasphemy
To better understand this let's look at the definition of blasphemy. The first definition says this: "Contemptuous or profane speech or action concerning God or a sacred entity."
So, what is it WT, their helpers and the GB doing....they are, "Contemptuous in their actions toward God!" It is the same arrogance that allowed Satan to defy his creator. It's very important we understand all the elements that define words. Contemptuous means what? I'm glad you asked.
"Contempt: The feeling or attitude of regarding someone or something as inferior, base, or worthless; scorn." When you can no longer quote the bible to back up your doctrine, that is contempt! That is the bible is inferior, worthless even. Certainly worthless in backing up their doctrinal claims!
So sorry, the GB and WT are in fact blasphemous, just look up the definition!
Moses was actually picked by God as his representative, and had the ten plagues for example as his back up to that claim. What evidence does the GB have to back up their claim? The answer, NONE. Which to me is surprising Robert doesn't see it that way, since he's provided some of the best proof that they are blasphemers!
Nope that's not it, they really are that bad! In fact I'll go one further and say, it is the most serious sin of them all. It is by definition sinning against God's Holy Spirit. The fact that they can give people Bible truth, educate them about the divine name, the truth about what happens to us when we die, the purpose for the earth etc, and then turn so many of those same people away from Jehovah, by their lies about 1914, their handling of CSA, the way they handle DF'ing, and more...they are the worst enemies of God on earth.I guess I love to dislike the GB a little bit too much.
They are the "wolves in sheeps clothing." No excuse for them, and I do not see a way out for them. Oh, and what ever happen to Tony Morris? Another self appointed "ruler along side Jesus", that even they had to admit, albeit as quietly as possible, they were wrong, yet again. Oh wait i'm sorry, they didn't actually admit anything, they just swept it under the rug and pretend nothing happened!
Make no mistake, they are blasphemers!
