Chapter 11 - The Partnership formerly known as Strange Bedfellows

I'm pretty sure I can dig up some pretty horrific stories about what the UN was really involved with in Yugoslavia. On a side note where we live there is a very large population of of Albanians and Bosnian. Where I grew up there was a family who owned the nicest restaurant in the small town I lived in and they were from Yugoslavia.
Oh yeah, I bet. Especially surrounding events of Srebrenica genocide... But the sentiment about them in general wasn't negative. Their presence was welcome for the most part by majority of population. I do remember that prior to war fully breaking out the "European Observers" with their blue helmets were sent as some kind of arbiters, trying to push for peace.

It appears that the Watchtower either developed or became involved in other organizations that are also connected to the UN. Here is a quote from Chapter 11:

To what extent has the Watchtower received help directly from the United Nations? It is hard to say. However, it turns out that it was much more than the use of a vehicle on one occasion. In trying to get to the bottom of the Watchtower’s dealings with the UN, this researcher has discovered that the Watchtower has spawned nearly a dozen subsidiary NGOs in various European nations. For instance, prior to the Watchtower gaining associate NGO status in 1992, in 1990, an NGO called Aid Afrique was set up in France. What was its intended purpose? The Zambia Daily Mail of June 17, 1999, under the heading: ‘French NGO officials jet in to help Congo DR refugees,’ reported the following:

‘Two officials from the Aid Afrique are expected in the country today to provide additional humanitarian support to thousands refugees who have fled trouble-torn Congo DR... The relief supplies are being provided by congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belgium, France and Switzerland. Aid Afrique is a European-based international humanitarian organisation founded in France in 1990 with the objective of bringing relief to critical areas of Africa. Through the UNHCR efforts in Tanzania, the organisation last year distributed over 20 tonnes of food and medicine to refugees in the Kigoma region. In 1997, Aid Afrique spent US$820,000 in humanitarian aid to the former Zaire.’

The Zambian news reveals that it was only through their cooperation with UNHCR that the Aidafrique NGO was able to accomplish its humanitarian objectives. But if the secular media in Africa openly reports on Aid Afrique’s cooperative ventures with various agencies of the United Nations, why is not the Watchtower more forthright in informing Jehovah’s Witnesses about their accomplishments? If the Watchtower’s relationship with the United Nations is such an honorable arrangement, why not publicize it—as they have so many other UN-sponsored programs? Most likely the reason subsidiary NGOs like Aidafrique were set up in the first place was in order to keep the more familiar Watchtower brand name in the background and off the front page.

Interestingly, a few years ago Jehovah’s Witnesses in France independently published a brochure entitled ‘A Mission to Africa.’ In it, they explained in detail the activities of the Aidafrique NGO. On pages 9-10, the revealing comment was made:

‘Our activity was often hindered by difficulties particular to the region. Distances are vast and lines of communication almost nonexistent. The best form of travel, if not the only one, is the airplane. Often we used the H.C.R.’s (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) planes. Administrative formalities also held us up’

Certainly no one is questioning the motives of Jehovah’s Witnesses in seeking to render lifesaving emergency aid to the long-suffering brothers in Africa. It was the right and Christian thing to do. But the question is—at what price? Is it worth cutting a deal with the Devil to save a soul? Jehovah’s Witnesses in Malawi did not think so. They were not even willing to buy a 25-cent political ID card, even though their refusal unleashed a horrific pogrom against them.“

I think the evidence is compelling that the Watchtower still has a secret association with the UN and I want to remind the forum members that Joe MacTeeg was told by Bethel that we are to submit to the UN even though we live under the US government at the moment.

They might think so, but God is clear. Can't serve two masters. As Paul said, "quit touching the unclean thing".
The Bible describes Christ's bride in Revelation 14:
4 These are the ones who did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins.+ These are the ones who keep following the Lamb no matter where he goes.+ These were bought+ from among mankind as firstfruits+ to God and to the Lamb, 5 and no deceit was found in their mouths; they are without blemish.+

2 Peter 3 also reminds ,
13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise,+ and in these righteousness is to dwell.+
14 Therefore, beloved ones, since you are awaiting these things, do your utmost to be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace.+

All this also applies to us, when it comes to worldly affairs. Everything these days seems to be permeated with political sentiment. Most people nowadays have strong opinions and I've personally seen friendships cool off or break. It's all by design. This system is controlled by demonic force which expresses its spirit through politics, culture, and media. This line from the Babylon Berlin show really hit it home for me:
The all-decisive feature of the action is that it happens noiselessly, almost invisibly, and only becomes reality in the headlines of the newspapers. Reality follows the narrative.

They create a fantasy and propagate it throughout society. People then live according to that fantasy, making it real.
This is really the craft of altering another's consciousness - once known as magick.
Truly a dark time to live in.

This morning I already felt discouraged, but after reading this..... and that while it is a beautiful sunny morning here, cold, but still..... How long, Jehovah, how long? Being exposed to worldly satanism is one thing, but to the satanism of those who should be our leaders is of an entirely different category, even though I understand that the prophecies must be fulfilled.....

Thank you and yes of course is Jesus our real leader, thanks for that Jehovah
I have no doubt we are being trained to completely trust in Jehovah and his son. We are so used to relying on an organization and had real love for all the brothers and sisters. Like a divorce it is a loss but in the end Jehovah will make us stand if we stay faithful.

It is very true what you say. All the years that I spent in the watchtower, I rarely if ever felt “love” for Jehovah. Sounds shocking to write it, but it’s true. I felt a servant; detached and just part of an organisation and that it was sterile ‘direction’ that would see me through. I knew what the watchtower told me, but they never did describe or rather “reveal” Jehovah. In retrospect, that seems to be the management way of watchtower - just as they said “Stick with us. You will be alright”. Morris said that and how hollow is that? Studying the truth here with all you guys, is such a different experience of the Word. When truth is spoken “as it is written” the attributes of the spirit move the heart, which in turn, moves the spirit to accept us and it is the spirit that appeals to the soul within us - and what is within us is the very source of life that Jehovah gave us. The soul does indeed ”recognise the voice“ of the Father and love is at last allowed to understand its origin. I do not believe that such a degree of intimacy with the Word can be gleaned through watchtower until the Spirit will awaken them.

If I remember that correctly, there is an issue. My memory is really good—really good—but only because I can locate specific things and remember them, so if I miss one small detail, the whole thing falls apart. I'll locate it eventually, I promise!

So well said. thank you. What a great way to start a conversation with my coworkers(or anybody for that matter) using those first two sentences.
