If Jehovah has an org, why leave?

I'm focusing on Bible truths that go beyond any organization. The time is coming when true worship will be conducted in our "inner rooms" due to persecution from the 8th king. We need to focus on our faith, not an organization, that time has come and gone.
That’s a good idea @Carl...”focusing on Bible truths“ is best… instead of pointing out the wrongness of other religions. In the past when I would witness to people I’d find out what interested them and then direct the conversation to what the Bible says…then have a discussion about it. It usually went smoothly. But I never talked about the organization…and to tell you the truth I never thought the GB was very important until they came out with ‘Who Are Doing God’s Will Today?‘ brochure. And it still never dawned on me….so, how dense was I?
Anyway, it wasn’t until after the JW Broadcast came out and I began to think they were becoming a bit too “visible“ now. 😳

So, I say all that to say, just stick to focusing on Bible truths…in that way you can’t go wrong.

Sound advice. Carls lad is 20 I think, and it’s no joke bringing up children in this time of moral and spiritual challenge, let alone what has been let loose in the school curriculum about equality, not to mention the abdication of any moral standards. It is absolutely appalling what the schools in Britain are sinking to in the name of equality - and you get arrested if you voice a complaint it seems.

I've had some great conversations with Muslims, Jews and other Christians about God; I use God instead of Jehovah at first, since I've found it causes a negative reaction in some people. If we focus on the fact that we love God, and not our individual interpretations of how to love Him, then we can build on our common faith in a Creator. When the time is right, and the Holy Spirit is with us, we can dig into True Worship with them... but if we jump right into it, their unconscious walls go up and the conversation shuts down. We need to show humility and be open to debate our own beliefs while defending them with the Bible, not some organization's manmade interpretations. I'm open to questioning the minor details that don't matter right now, but I'll never budge on the deal breakers, like Jesus being the ONLY path to Jehovah. Compromise isn't a bad thing when done correctly. Lovingly and respectfully agreeing to disagree is what needs to occur when any compromise would result in you denying core Truth.

You are spot on with using the name Jehovah causing difficulties in perception. Watchtower has so standardised the name both socially and now politically that the Name has been sullied by their reputation. Child abuse, meddling in politics, and the abuse of donations, and even business acumen in real estate, not to mention the conduct and lies from the GB. I wonder what final insult will be that breaks the back of watchtower obfuscation.

Ps 83: 28
May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Ex 9: 16
But for this very reason I have kept you in existence: to show you my power and to have my name declared in all the earth
If I have the opportunity to talk about God with a stranger… I don’t refer to Him as Jehovah at first, I say God. I certainly don’t hide from His name though. It can be annoying if you meet someone and they immediately start with the “praise Jesus” or “praise Jehovah” talk.

exactly. I remember the days when i didn't know even one current GB name. Now it's semi-celebrityhood

I'd also eventually use the verse in Genesis where it says "Now people have started naming after Jehovah..."

Followed by,

Meanings of names:
-Jehovah: He causes to become
-Jesus: Jehovah is salvation

Most if not all J-based names have the divine name included in definition. When you search for the meaning of Jesus, sometimes the useless sites say LORD is salvation but you can find those that say Jehovah is salvation.

You can also use Yahweh, as some people prefer that. I think Jehovah in western countries may have negative connotation among some people because they associate the name with annoying people that knock on your door in the morning.

I know it's illogical to insist on Yahweh, because otherwise you should be offended by Jesus, or any J-based name say like John, Jonah, etc. The english name Eve sounds nothing like the Hebrew version either.

1 Cor. 10:6-11
"Now these things became examples for us, in order for us not to desire injurious things, as they desired them.7 Neither become idolaters, as some of them did; just as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to have a good time.”8 Neither let us practice sexual immorality, as some of them committed sexual immorality, only to fall, 23,000 of them in one day.9 Neither let us put Jehovah to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by the serpents.10 Neither be murmurers, as some of them murmured, only to perish by the destroyer.11 Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have come."

I posted this scripture and I would like some thoughts as what you think about this:

We remember reading the account in Exodus 32 when the Israelites thought Moses was taking a long time coming down from the mountain and they grew tired of waiting so they decided to make a golden calf, something they had to "see." Evidently they had already had the wrong view of Moses because their motive behind making the golden calf was that they wanted to make something in place of Moses then claim the calf was now their God that led them out of Egypt! How absurd! And of course we know what this eventually led them to do.
Now take that attitude that prevailed back then and compare that to now. We can have or keep hanging on to the past knowing that at one time Jehovah used this organization or group of people who led us to Jehovah, Jesus, and God’s purpose for the earth and mankind. But, like the Israelites "corrupted themselves" back then the WT has corrupted themselves by bringing reproach on Jehovah. What happened to those who put their trust in the golden calf? They were killed, 3,000 of them. But those on Jehovah's side were spared.
Today, we don't have a golden calf but there's WT/GB/ jw.org. That's the idol that witnesses are putting to much trust in to bring about their salvation.

Don't forget what Jesus said about the difference between ones who would be following him and those who would not:

“Be on the watch for the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.16 By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they?17 Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit.18 A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit.19 Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.20 Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those men."

Although Moses didn't corrupted but what those Israelites became corrupted as a result of of putting too much faith and trust in something or someone they could see. Jesus said it was by their fruits you would be able to identify the true and the false. Also, he said that his followers would have would "have love among themselves."

It doesn't matter anymore that THEY taught us the truth...NO...Jehovah DID use them to accomplish his purpose and they've served that purpose. We don't owe them anything for that, we owe Jehovah a gratitude of THANKS for bringing the truth to us and a chance to draw close to him.
We need to focus on Jehovah not an organization because of what they've done for us. Yes, I'm thankful that Jehovah used them to help me learn about him and I benefitted much from what I learned from the org.

But now, in the present, they've acted against Jehovah and his people so I can't see them as being on "Jehovah's side" anymore.
We don't want to make an idol out of the WT/GB just because of the good they've done in the past. All of our trust and praise should go to Jehovah and do well follow the example Jesus set.

Great question. I'm old school, I come from a time when the organisation encouraged you to be a spiritual man or women based on gaining knowledge from the Bible - the good old days. Unfortunately times have moved on to the point you can no longer think for yourself. You need to worship the cult of the GB, even to the point brothers and sisters dance and sing songs for them on arrive at conventions. Then you have to put up with the WT study articles that have no spiritual substance but generally seem to be gaslighting and misdirection. Sorry I'm out.

Judas Iscariot was the original Man of Lawlessness/ Son of destruction. John 17: 12
Although he believed Jesus was the Messiah, he betrayed him for money believing Jesus couldn't be killed because he was destined to deliver Israel from the Roman's.
When it didn't play out as he expected, he threw down the blood money at the temple and killed himself.

I suspect the later day MOL will perform a similar act of treachery for money, believing that Jehovah would not let anything bad happen to His people. In fact I believe they have already performed this act of treachery.

I agree with you: We are a blessed little gathering, attaining a better understanding which in turn I'm positive will develop into a pure language.
I was just contemplating the difference between two artists that of Handel and John Lennon: Why would Handel give eulogy to the Messiah while Lennon...'Imagine no heaven, above us only sky' looked to Indian mystics? Handel was versed in scripture while Lennon born into bombed out Liverpool and was raised with Rhodes diamonds, the Darwinistic, godless processes within Britain's society of replacing God with state..the state being the British Empire. Being versed in scripture really does inspire! I'm glad Jehovah's witnesses knocked my door!

I thought today Harley Schlanger would have made a meal out of Boris's claims of Putin's threats..but no! Admiringly calm he states: "Boris with numerous allegations of fraud and lying in office may have gone bit too far with this one"? Surely Zelnsky must have worked it out: Boris has thwarted peace with Putin twice now!

According to the book "The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life", ch14, How to Identify the True Religion: "there must be just one true religion", which can't simply be based on claims by people or organizations.
It goes on to list five points by which we can recognize the true religion:
  • Believers would love one another as Christ loved us; so love—but not just any kind of love, the love of the Christ—would permeate the congregation and it would be visible to people outside. The true religion would adhere to God’s Word, the Bible.
  • It wouldn’t deviate, it wouldn’t teach falsehoods—hellfire for example…
  • They would sanctify God’s name. Now that’s more than simply using it. Anybody can say ‘Jehovah’. Sanctifying his name goes beyond that.
  • Proclaiming the good news is another facet; it would have to be a preacher of the good news.
  • Finally it would maintain political neutrality, it would be separate from the world.
These are so important that the Truth book said, at the end of that chapter:
“The question at issue is not whether a certain religious group appears to meet one or two of these requirements nor whether some of its doctrines conform to the Bible. Far more than that. The true religion must measure up in all these respects and its teachings must be in full harmony with God’s Word.”

Based on this standard, is JW organization a true religion? (assuming that it is understood that true religion = God's people/organization).

Seeing that Jehovah hasn't Reveled themselves. THAT would mean that all things are not completely understood. But we bear Jehovah name. And Respect all things that bear his name. Which includes this site although there are both good fish and bad with in it now. What we are look for is the False Prophet standing in a holy place.
