Ha ha... that's the first time anyone called me devils advocate for sticking up for Jehovah. I'm familiar with her testimony and I can save you the trouble, after all is said and done all we are left with is she said he said.

My take on it is that she heard something she didn't like the sound of, but before she could dig any deeper, they circled the wagons, Bethel style. So she has suspicions, but since shortly afterward she found herself on the outside, we can only speculate what really transpired.

Also since neither one of us was in the room when she got disfellowshipped, we can't say for sure which direction that conversation took. Generally speaking, at least for quite some time now anyway, whenever someone is disfellowshipped, the announcement is made without further embellishment. So once again we can only speculate as to why she was disfellowshipped. If she did indeed have a smoking gun, a greedy lawyer would already be lining his pockets with Sofie's ice cream money.

Something else needs to be said that is a recurring theme here that is misunderstood. Most are critical that the wt does not admit guilt. The wt can not admit guilt as a matter of corporate law. To give an example, do you think the dentists will ever admit guilt that they poisoned everyone with mercury ? Do you think big pharma will ever admit guilt that vaccines are dangerous? No... it's never gonna happen. To do so would bankrupt them many times over. Their hands are tied, even if they wanted to.


But digging even further there is a principle in corporate law called duty of loyalty. As a fiduciary in the vast majority of corporations, the law states that certain dictates apply. However the wt is unique and separate from and distinct because it's charter lists Jehovah God as a fiduciary. So y'all are barking up the wrong tree. You are not getting Sofie's ice cream money.

What About the Consequences?​


18 Does Jehovah’s readiness to forgive mean that a repentant sinner is exempted from all consequences of his wrong course? Not at all. We cannot sin with impunity. Paul wrote: “Whatever a person is sowing, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) We may face certain consequences of our actions. This does not mean that after extending forgiveness Jehovah causes adversity to befall us. When troubles arise, a Christian should not feel, ‘Perhaps Jehovah is punishing me for past sins.’ (James 1:13) On the other hand, Jehovah does not shield us from all the effects of our wrong actions. Divorce, unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, loss of trust or respect—all of these may be the sad, unavoidable consequences of sin. Recall that even after forgiving David for his sins in connection with Bath-sheba and Uriah, Jehovah did not protect David from the disastrous consequences that followed.—2 Samuel 12:9-12.


19 Our sins may have additional consequences, especially if others have been hurt by our actions. Consider, for example, the account in Leviticus chapter 6. The Mosaic Law here addresses the situation wherein a person commits a serious wrong by seizing a fellow Israelite’s goods through robbery, extortion, or fraud. The sinner then denies that he is guilty, even being so daring as to swear falsely. It is one person’s word against another’s. Later, however, the offender becomes stricken in conscience and confesses his sin. To gain God’s forgiveness, he has to do three more things: restore what he had taken, pay the victim a fine totaling 20 percent of the value of the stolen items, and provide a ram as a guilt offering. Then, the law says: “The priest will make atonement for him before Jehovah, and he will be forgiven.”—Leviticus 6:1-7.

20 This law was a merciful provision from God. It benefited the victim, whose property was returned and who no doubt felt much relief when the offender finally acknowledged his sin. At the same time, the law benefited the one whose conscience at last moved him to admit his guilt and correct his wrong. Indeed, if he refused to do so, there would be no forgiveness for him from God.

21 Although we are not under the Mosaic Law, that Law gives us insight into Jehovah’s mind, including his thinking on forgiveness. (Colossians 2:13, 14) If others have been hurt by our sins, God is pleased when we do what we can to right the wrong. (Matthew 5:23, 24) This may involve acknowledging our sin, admitting our guilt, and even apologizing to the victim. Then we can appeal to Jehovah on the basis of Jesus’ sacrifice and experience the assurance that we have been forgiven by God.—Hebrews 10:21, 22.

This is what TRUE repentance looks like and any offender that remains in the congregation of God should be required to do ALL of the things mentioned in this chapter. Period.

Satan the Devil is the one who set up these laws! To be clear, I actually believe this was all set up by Satan! Unlike yourself and WT! "The whole world lies in the power of the wicked one." Which really is the most remarkable thing of all. If you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses, then you actually believe that everything you are defending, was set up by the most evil personage in the Universe. You have fought and lost before you even started! Since you love the GB so much here's a quote from one of your gods, "we won't need lawyers in the new system." But that doesn't seem to sway you in the least!


You are defending the Devil! The corporate structure of WT was set up, "of the devil." Anything and everything they do, to try to "work inside of Satan's system" is making a "deal with the devil." And the fact you can actually defend that, speaks volumes to who and what you are!

All the more serious is when someone perverts that desire.

@Liv4ever So, to obfuscate, and down play the seriousness of a pedophile in the midst of the congregations, is one of the most egregious, offensive and irresponsible things I can think of anyone doing! And in my mind the best and most demonstrative proofs we have, the GB and WT do NOT CARE ABOUT CHILDREN! Even the world led by Satan the Devil, see's the seriousness of how wicked a pedophile is that they make it known to the public, so parents can protect their children.

Oh and to be clear, they do this in complete and total opposition to their god Satan! Satan hates all of us, including our children! So WT cannot even rise to the level of Satan's controlled governments to do the right thing, when it comes to children! That should be all you need to know, when considering the sins of WT! Yikes. As Barbara Anderson says, the internet brings a whole new level of exposure. This could unleash a “flood” of persecution against the brothers and sisters who have no knowledge that this is happening. Of course for the guilty it will be a just punishment but the “innocent” will get flooded right along. I am very happy that I fled when I did. If any of you are going out in service, it could get bad for you.

Who is Deborah Hines? I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but in the beginning it doesn't really say who her father was. Sounds like they were Bethelites at the time? What year was this? Maybe the video answers those questions, so sorry if it does. The link under the video does not work. I get a 404 error message.

I don’t recall the year but it was when they made the video “The Organization Behind the Name” and the series of videos on the Bible. They were very well done but her pedophile step-father was brought to Bethel to do the videos. They reproved the step-daughter for talking about the crime. Her mother was an alcoholic and would get passed out drunk and it all took place at Bethel. Apparently the rapes were particularly brutal and sick.
 
I believe the case was finally settled six months ago.

Mark O’Donnell goes into more detail about it. Here are his comments.
