My name is Jake, and I've been around "the truth" my entire life. I've been awake, and in PIMO mode for 3 years. My wife is waking up, but not all the way there. The infamous pandemic Updates made her realize that the GB isn't legit, but she's still hanging on to certain beliefs. It takes time. I'm in my late 40's, and I was raised in the borg, which means I remember when they didn't play games! I'm really appalled by what's happening, and venting is awesome, so thank you all in advance.
Edit: I don't want to offend anyone. I still love Jah and I still think the org has had a few things right, but the beliefs I'm referring to is the whole structure of supreme leadership based on a parable. The whole slave class deal isn't biblical in my opinion.

Welcome Jake. The pandemic updates woke me up as well.

Hi Jake! I'm of a similar demographic (40's/ quasi-raised). The irony of the GB shutting Kingdom Halls and the public preaching work for 2+ years, when previously told to quit a job if your employer caused one to miss was astonishing. Vx and GB updates sealed the deal when previous direction was to stay neutral on personal health and political matters. There are admittedly aspects of the community, moral upbringing, and nostalgia that provides compelling ties, but it's getting harder to ignore the recent disconnect among several issues.

Robins, that was well put. That's exactly where I'm at. To me it's like entire core beliefs kind of faded away, or stopped suddenly with little or no explanation. When they said to obey them even if it doesn't make sense from a human standpoint I knew something was terribly wrong. That's not biblical. I'll never forget how I felt when my cousin, who was in Bethel for over 20 years told me he had to leave because he wouldn't get the injectables. Then the updates. That was deep. And the Updates... Ugh. Terrible.
I'm still going, but I'm not sure how much more I can handle. I'm glad to have found this site though. I was driving myself crazy! 😀

Welcome @DeepThinker! We’re all at some level of re-evaluation of what we used to think we knew. Heck I’m trying to figure out how in the world we all agreed some of the trumpets of Revelation were fulfilled by a talk in Cedar Point, OH in 1922 and oddly no one else but us think that 100 years later! 😆😆
As many have stated the cvd broadcasts were our ice water wake up and where we drew the line in the sand.

Welcome @DeepThinker (Jake). You are not alone. The GB cvd updates had the same effect on us and many others. Unfortunately, at 40-ish and above, and having been in the borg for such a long time, makes it hard to decide on next steps. This forum has become an outlet to, at least express our concerns, doubts, thoughts, etc. that would be taken as potentially apostate to most on the inside. I have had the good fortune of having a few awake friends, some high up the ranks, and some not, of which I can trust and confide in, but they are a small group of which I can count on 2 hands. Recently I met a non-JW, friend of the family, who got the pfizer jab and shared his near death experiences post getting them. Said, post first dose, got thrombosis in leg, and post 2nd dose, pulmonary embolism. He's in his 60's and said, "I nearly died". He 100% believes it was the 💉and fully regrets getting it. Fortunately, all my immediate family members did not get v💉xxed. 🙏

Welcome Jake, I am also a born-in from a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away. I was around for the "we never said the end was going to be here in 1975" Hoax! I remember it well. I fled Jerusalem over a decade ago when I found Robert's site. The Org is NOT the same religion i was raised in. I love Jehovah and Jesus more now than i did spending 1/2 a century going to meetings, giving talks on the ministry school, service, ect, ect, ect. Welcome to what i like to call our on-line congregation. There are great people here and wonderful information. Glad to have you with us.

Wow. You have a cousin who left Bethel because he refused the vaccine? How is your cousin doing? Good for him for staying strong.

Welcome to the forum DeepThinker.

Recently, the Org has shown its friendship with the world. Saying the same things other “faith-based organizations” were told to do like taking the vaccine is an “act of love”. It’s disheartening how the org has changed. But Paul has warned long time ago that there will be an apostasy, not just any apostasy but “the apostasy”, which indicates an extraordinary event among the congregation of Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.”
Right now, the Org is riding on the Wild Beast. Sooner or later, true Christians will have to flee.(Matthew 24:15-17; Revelations 18:4-8)

Welcome! Hope more of the friends follow your course.
The org has morphed into the dictatorial autocratic monster it is today thanks to the likes of now dead hardliner Ted Jaracz and his current gov body appointees also hardliners for the most part.
Lockstep obedience to their non scriptural based rules and regulations have replaced what was once an organization that espoused truth and love and has hollowed out the average JW’s ability to think critically which scripture admonishes us to do.
It’s a lengthy read but quite illuminating in its explanation,by eyewitnesses to the events, of how these fiends hijacked the truth for their own benefit.

A young woman in an abusive relationship asked for my advice.

Although he has never hit her, her boyfriend orders her around and requires her to do many things for him.

She has also caught him in many lies, and if she calls him out on them he responds with wild accusations against her and then when they are alone he threatens her.

She says that he is not all bad and is often very kind to her, so she just does what he expects her to do and ignores the lies and threats. But lately his lifestyle is putting her life in danger.

He is also her brother's lifelong best friend and a close friend of the family and if she breaks up with him she fears causing a rift in the family.

What should i tell her?

By the way, i'm not gonna say her name, but her initials are PIMO

:)

Hey Zane! She is not responsible for how the family reacts to her efforts to possibly save her life by separating from what sounds like a toxic relationship. She needs to leave this guy and right away! My dos centavos.
