I always thought it was wonderful how Jesus help doubting Thomas rekindle his joy.
Perhaps Jesus may help others to rekindle their joy as well.

John20:

24 But Thomas,+ one of the twelve, who was called The Twin,* was not with them when Jesus came. 25 Consequently the other disciples would say to him: “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them: “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side,+ I will certainly not believe.”+26 Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and he stood in their midst and said: “May YOU have peace.”+ 27 Next he said to Thomas: “Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand+ and stick it into my side, and stop being unbelieving but become believing.” 28 In answer Thomas said to him: “My Lord and my God!”+ https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/bi12/books/john/20/#v43020024
Sometimes there is no better insight into what we must do to obtain salvation, than to read the scripture you just quoted. Having said that, it is difficult at times to sieve hope from faith - the two are combined, but only one is of value, the other has a shade of self deceit that we need to be aware of. There is a growing sense of change going on. Governments have never been so aimless and impotent.

I really do not know why people worry so much about world events. It’s natural to fear the unknown, but to dwell on it and allow it to get under our skin is only going to detract from our resolve. We look forward to the end. What a contradiction that is! Where to live, what to eat. Are we to be promised deliverance and left to starve? That’s what the Israelites said. From what I have come to understand from the end game scenario, we will all be left with one choice - have faith or die. We will be totally dependant on Jehovah for the necessities of life. We may prepare all we want, but it will come down to that at some point. One thing for sure, and that is to ask ourselves the ultimate question - do we want to live in this world as it is? I try not to concern myself more than necessary, having resolved that question.

I believe I remember you say once
Barnaby ,in regards to material prepping for the tribulation times, that not prepping was in itself an act of faith.
I certainly agree with that view. Jehovahs arm is not cut short so as to not be able to deliver us from any situation.
Just so many examples of humble servants of Jehovah being cared for miraculously in sometimes impossible conditions.
Those accounts are there for a reason.

When Jesus was arrested the apostles we're totally confused and had abandon him and Scattered, they were obviously fearful and Afraid not knowing what to expect next, this event occurred before the Holy Spirit was poured out on them however after the Holy Spirit was poured out on all of them they became Fearless even to death upholding their faith to Jehovah, so with that being said I imagine Jehovah will do the same for us during the tribulations we must endure so that we can be faithful even to death just like the apostles were .
We're not going to be able to endure the tribulations and remain faithful if Jehovah does not pour out His holy spirit on us.

None the less he will help us with a little help.

Who is Daniel 11 33.34 applying to then? It seems ambiguous where it speaks of “smoothness…”?

True, but for me it is ambiguous. I did mean what I said, because we at sometime must trust implicitly. If faced with death we must. The scriptures about having oil enough I assume refers to faith, yet the scriptures also refer to being prepared. It’s wisdom. Yet there must be a division, surely, because we must rely on deliverance and our reliance must surely be not only 100% physically but also in terms of faith. Starvation of 40 days is indicative of the strength required, as the temptation came at that very point. On the one hand we are asked to be ready, yet on the other, we that we must show faith. The reply Jesus made to Satan illustrates the point. He said “we do not live by bread alone, but on every utterance from Jehovah.” The preparation seems to be more applicable in terms of faith. Thus, why put off the evil hour? The scriptures then say, “…do not even go back to pick up your outer garment….”. I would suppose that applies to bread as well - so why stock up? It all seems very contradictory at times!

I'm not quite sure of your question could you please rephrase it and I'll get back to you tomorrow.
The scripture you quote from Daniel 11. To whom is it addressed? I presume that it is speaking to faithful ones put under test by circumstances during the tribulation - “to stumble by the sword…..captivity…plundering ….” And are given a “little help” (by the Holy Spirit I assume), but to whom is it referring when it says that”many will join themselves to them “by means of smoothness”. Smoothness or ‘guile’ is used in derogatory terms in the scriptures to denote deceit, and so what is being described here and who is it that is being ’smooth’ in their intent? Thanks.

I remember watchtower attributing it to the wall coming down...'a little help'... like all their prophetic nonsense it is erased soon as they realise the absurdity of it! They are in darkness...unlike some who have in a relative sense been given a little help?

Seriously where are we going to hide if Satan demands to sift us as wheat.?

Luke22:31 “Simon, Simon, look! Satan+ has demanded to have YOU men to sift YOU as wheat.

And yet: Isa 26:20

"Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by." NIV

No idea what the hiding will entail or if it even applies to the coming times...

Perhaps it will be after the sifting when the nations come to destroy Jehovah's people.

Good thing we on this forum don't have smart devices. If some need the support of the system and want to remain on the grid that is up to you. Keep in mind none of us will escape the extreme test of our faith just up ahead. Some of us are already facing trying times but we know where our trust should be, or do we?
Suggestion, if you must have a cell, and don't want to be tracked by B/B get a Brax 2 or a de-googled. we need to work our own salvation but.

This has always been an issue for clarification for me. It requires a human understanding rather than a quotation because the scriptures contend with themselves here with the issues of judgement (Contend in the human liquidity and meanings of faith). We are left in no doubt that there is a strong possibility of death - if not from judgement, then certainly from others - even our own family. Yet concurrently within the scriptures we are told that “maybe we shall be concealed in the day of Jehovah…”. (See the above scriptures of promise). Over the top of that is the issue of faith that demands that we remain firm in our “belief of things hoped for though yet unseen” if we are to have any chance of life at all - and yet that scripture alone reveals yet another aspect in this trial, in that “hope” is key. Faith is described as “things hoped for”. So if the limit of our achievement in faith is mere “hope”, then where can we rest our “belief” in such uncertainty in assurance of outcomes? And the answer is not ‘in faith’ but in clarity. How do we clarify the biblical contentions in what is in effect, justice?

"by means of smoothness", or "by those who are not sincere".

Most certainly the phrase 'keep your friends close but your enemies closer' comes to mind when we contemplate this verse. That is, of course, if we look at from the perspective of those who are not sincere. Perhaps it is to try to silence that which brings hope to mankind. Perhaps it is to squash that which represents the only true God from sprouting more. It's the weeds and the wheat, is it not? Subtly coming in amongst us, through smoothness, representing themselves as though they are Christians, yet in their heart their motive is to disrupt and deceive, and most certainly to manipulate. How can we tell the difference between those who truly want to worship the only true God Jehovah, and those who manipulate us to believe that they do as well?

You can't...Thats the power of a lie.

Nobody wants to be lied to, not even those who lie. So how can we tell the difference between those who are sincere, and those who aren't? It doesn't matter. Thats right, it doesn't matter...because Jehovah knows, and that is ALL that matters. Jesus told us to love our brother as we love ourselves, and that's what we do, regardless. Even when we KNOW who is against us, we choose love over hate, we choose hope over fear, we choose to look beyond that which presents itself now, a lie. This world is going to end, and WE get to be a part of it. Be excited for what is to come, because it is going to be way better than this piece of shit world than Satan has produced.

Thanks. That is helpful. It does indeed seem to be that some will attach themselves to those who do believe - at least that is one train of thought. Do you think though that the person/s they are hoping to attach to is the anointed or just any whom do believe such as the great crowd. I‘m not sure - I find the scripture context quite confusing. What is there for them to gain? Is this a reflection of those that answer Christ that they “have cast out demons in his name” etc?

The Smartphones themselves will work, as long as it can be charged. There's a video of a company doing EMP tests, and an iPhone survived radiated EMP.

Radiated EMP vs Line EMP
-Radiated EMP: Via nuclear strikes in the atmosphere, or solar flares. Indirect contact
-Line EMP: You have the EMP travelling through the AC line. Direct contact.

Almost nothing is going to survive the second one, but surprisingly lot of devices will survive the first one. Solar panels themselves won't get killed by it. What will fail is the electronics that are required to use the solar panels. It's also rather simple to protect them from radiated EMP further.

You are right in the big picture. You won't be able to communicate with them if the grid is down, which means you won't have cell towers. Ok, maybe each tower has a backup power, but you need the central command to make it all work(the provider).
No one phones me - I’m fully shunned. If the government want to know about the padlock I just ordered from Amazon, I am happy to report to the local police at 1am in the morning for good-cop-bad-cop investigation from MI5. I don’t even get shysters calling me. (my telephone number is 0666-666666666). Worry free.
