But we do not have all the pieces and won't until the New System. When you read the account of the Flood in Genesis, it says so much yet so little. What does it really say in that account? "Sons of God took women as wives, namely all whom they chose and Nephilim." So much is left out. But what dop0 we know? Angels came to the earth lived as men, had hybrid children(whatever that means, did they only have sons for example, if so how is that possible?) So Jehovah brought the flood and wiped them out.

Why so little detail? Well the Bible was written in the ancient world by men living in the ancient world. Their understanding was so limited by our standards of understanding, so how could the Bible be taken seriously and be preserved if incredible things that those ancients could not grasp were described? Even now when an airplane would have been seen as a miracle to those ancients, the miracles in the Bible are thought of today to be advanced technology described in the ancient world, and things like fire coming down from heaven and consuming Elijah's alter are dismissed out of hand.


So we have pieces of the puzzle about Satan, We don't have the complete picture nor have we ever seen the complete picture let alone have all the pieces of the puzzle, so how could we ever put them together to make a complete picture? I think all the comments on this portion of this thread about Satan are all valid pieces of that puzzle. I think about for example, part of what makes us the "image of God" is our feelings the way we think etc. One reason people become addicted to substances like alcohol and drugs is they induce certain feelings although artificially. But people can get addicted to activities. And because we are "the image of Jehovah and Jesus, and by extension the angels would be in "the image of them too, the way they "have feelings" would be similar. In other words, activities would induce the same "endorphins" in Satan and his demons albeit how that happens/works we have no way of knowing or understanding, but clearly that's what is and has been happening. I really liked the "high functioning psychopath" description.

Nomex, what you're saying makes sense. Why would Jehovah step in to help out Satan's mess? That would defeat the purpose of the experiment. I get that.

But thinking about this also this raises another question for me... (and maybe my thinking is bonkers because of all the spiritual changes I've been undergoing this past year.)

I was meditating on "Satan's challenge" and I was thinking how Satan is no doubt highly intelligent, beyond our limited comprehension. If he really thought he could rule humans and the earth better than Jehovah, and he was given the opportunity and thousands of years to demonstrate that, why would he choose to create untold chaos, war, suffering and confusion?

Sure he's evil and selfish and people imitate their leader etc etc, but honestly, he COULD have been much more effective by teaching humans beneficial things, how to work together, build communities, heal, care for the land. He was there for creation of many things, he had intimate knowledge of how things work. He could have convinced many humans and angels that he had some really good ideas. Why would he choose to screw everything up into an irrepairable mess? I honestly want to know. What kind of game plan is that?

A couple of things come to my mind that may help add a piece to answer your question, as I have pondered this question also.

First, when Satan encouraged the rebellion, he was dealing with perfect humans who had the prospect of everlasting life. It was only after the rebellion that God determined the punishment, leaving Satan to rule a now corrupted, decrepit version of the human species. He had no way of knowing that Jehovah would make that "chess move".
Game changer? Plan changer? Probably.

Also, as others pointed out, Satan is psychotic for all intents and purposes being devoid of holy spirit. He may be a genius compared to humans but he is a mad-genius nonetheless. Look at the plans of the communist and Rothschild, WEF global elite: own nothing, eat bugs, and be happy. If they can wipe out a good portion of the population and convince the rest including clueless future generations that their mission statement is great, then they (including their God Satan) will be viewed as wonderful, benevolent, rulers. Most of the CCP mind controlled masses have been convinced of this and believe it wholeheartedly. They are good little slaves who have been taught to enjoy their slavery and praise their god-like leaders.

Maybe this is Satans ideal system of rule. It seems like that is where the Satanists are trying to take the world.

I make the greatest effort possible to stay uber aware so as to not be hypnotized by my own repetitive or even semi-repetitive thoughts, whether spiritually originated or not. I really appreciate your response here Driven, very good points. I was also thinking of the description of satan in Ezekiel when I was meditating on his position and attitude. He no doubt thinks very highly of himself and his envy of Jehovah and Jesus has surely escalated over the ages.

But also, since he is so clever and deceitful and we only have a fraction of the actual truth, maybe he has manipulated our complete perception of everything. Maybe nothing is as it seems. That’s where my digging is leading me lately. Forgive me all of you if this seems heretical, I truly want to believe the “word of God” in its entirety, but how do we know it isn’t half truths, compiled to blind and mislead us down to this day. Who decided what was to be included in the inspired canon? Weren’t they apostates from true Christianity?

Why would Jehovah preserve such a confusing mess of books and say live by these words or face destruction... when billions of people all interpret the words differently based on their unique circumstances and upbringing?

Like I said in a previous post, I am starting over. I am scraping away everything WT and GB taught me and researching with unbiased eyes, and it doesn’t add up.

@Jess once said to me that this is her time in the wilderness, like Jesus time w Jehovah when knowledge of his prehuman existence was revealed to him. No doubt it took that long, even for a perfect man to process that kind of revelation. I am here alone, asking Jehovah to help me figure out who he is and what he wants.

Don’t give up. I can understand your confusion. Just start with the basics and build from there. Personally, I believe that Jehovah through his power and might has made his message available to all in his word, the Bible. Yes, some have tried to distort his message but with digging it can all be discerned. One thing that helps me is to consider all motives, including Jehovah’s motive. We know we were created and we were created perfect for the earth. Under the right conditions the earth is perfect for us. God’s love is evident without the bible but we can build on that. Jehovah’s pure motive of love is evident. So, I look for his righteousness and tried to tamp down my own inclination to be a “right fighter”. It isn’t about us being right, but Jehovah being right, his rulership being right and his name should have the glory that is due to it. Stay prayerful. No doubt we all go through testing. No one is perfect but here is the difference between one that Jehovah views as righteous and one who succumbs to a wicked course:

Proverbs 24:16: “For the righteous one may fall seven times, and he will get up again, But the wicked will be made to stumble by calamity.”

Psalm 73:2: “ As for me, my feet had almost strayed; My steps had nearly slipped.”

Pray for faith, discernment and holy spirit.

I have to disagree. While the apocryphal works may be interesting, for me my time is precious and I only spend it on what is reliable. And, the accepted bible cannon is more than enough information to sustain me. The study of the bible cannon is a time consuming effort in and of itself but one thing that makes sense to me is that we can tell the books that are part of the accepted bible cannon because they are viewed as having divine authorship because they actually claim to be inspired and they harmoniously contribute to the main theme of the bible, God’s Kingdom. I hope your search for truth results in a solid foundation for you and peace of mind.

I feel the same way evw, like I'm relearning and questioning everything, even foundational beliefs. I've been in the "truth" that long too, and I've always had unanswered questions that I stowed away, but now I have even more questions. It seems all I do is study and research, trying to prove to myself what is actually the truth. At times it seems unattainable. There are too many layers of lies. Too many liars. But I appreciate coming here and feeling pretty safe to discuss such things.

I agree too. So many videos. I hesitate to watch videos that are ‘exJW’, many tend to bash and are very harsh. This one though was different to me. I am so glad they voice recorded the actual conversations too. So hard these days with editing to know if anything is ligit or not.
