Hi Carl, Coincidentally while driving last night, I saw flashes of light lighting up the sky just for a split second and I realized it was lightning but no evidence yet of a storm. When I woke up this morning, the storm is upon us as they say. We’re getting drenched along with even brighter lightning. So, I am understanding a bit more about the sign of the Son of Man. It signals to observant people that an inescapable event is about to descend, but others may be unaware until it affects them.

Daniel 7:13 states that the Son of man is coming on the clouds of heaven. Clouds denote invisibility. When Jesus ascended to heaven he was taken up into the clouds and at that point disappeared from human view.

Thanks for your reply. It’s a problem for me with its ambiguity. The visibility of the anointed then must be the significant factor in this. Am I right in thinking then that this is made obvious by the appearance of the anointed and the fact that the message is spoken through them “….do not be concerned as to what to say as it will be given you…”?

Not literally but he is the Word of God. Anyway, that was my thinking. The eagles can also represent the angels gathering the body of Christ to him. Ezekiel and Revelation used an eagle to represent an angel. Matthew 24:31 explains:

“And he will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.”​

Note the context from v27-28, the disciples are asking where to go to when these signs occured. But Jesus reassured them he will come to them through his angels. So they do not need to go where others said “Here is the Christ!” or “There!” because he will come for them where ever they are.

I can't even imagine what that must or would be like. I only envy that they will see and I will not. Maybe I don't envy though. Is it possible that from an earthly bound perspective that the sight of Jesus would be more than my mind could handle? I like to think not but there is my question. Some will see and the rest of us will hopefully see their visitation from Jesus and the visible brightness left as God's mark. I think that's how it works. I think that if you have seen the clear evidence that a holy interaction with God has been made visible, then you are without excuse if you choose to deny it. That is where we are headed to. The interaction. Some of us will see Jesus and be expected to bear witness. They will be hated but put upon for a time and then they will come to kill those witnesses. Then it is game on. It seems so strange because I had only half believed that our generation was wicked enough to see the coming of Jesus.

Isaiah 16:14 because Edom, Ammon and Moab are Babylon the Great. (Just thinking which is hard to do these days..)

I'm very interested in time in the Bible and the meaning of numbers, as it seems you are.

I've been reading about the time period of 120 years lately. There are some interesting parallels...

40 years: Moses raised in privilege in house of Pharoah, kills an oppressor of his brothers and flees
40 years: Moses lives in the wilderness with his wife and father in law. Jehovah calls him to save his people.
40 years: Jehovah frees the Isrealites from bondage using Moses. They wander and they finally enter the promised land. Moses dies at 120 years of age but with the promised land in view.

40 years: The messed up rule of Saul. Saul falls for his sin
40 years: The Bloody rule of David. David slays a lot of enemies of Jehovah and establishes Jehovah's nation firmly.
40 years: The peaceful, enlightened rule of Solomon. Unfortunately we know how that ended.

Add more if you can think of them.

Will there be parallels in our time? Interesting to contemplate.

Anyway, just some stuff I recently discovered and found interesting...

God is an mathematician of the highest order. He loves numbers and uses them freely to make his points and teach us (3.5, 7, 10, 40, etc, etc, etc. And combinations of those numbers). Just another reason why we can trust the Bible and know it's from Jehovah God.

Our God does toy with mathematics. Isn't it his right to do so and have fun? Twelve is the most common derivative handed down from God. We love twelve. Not ten which is an even and more divisible number. Twelve is one of those number that makes you do calculations just to see what it does. 144. 144,000. On and on and on.
Forty is a special number among mankind. Thirty means that you have learned how to pay attention but forty means you finally pulled your head out of your buttocks. Maybe. Fifty means you're old enough to have respect without begging for it. Sixty means I don't have to ask for anything as regards approval because I lived this long and God has blessed me enough or just enough that I didn't die from my own stupid works.
Yes, that is a thing. Dying from our own stupidity. I managed to outlive my own lack of brains. May God bless me with more of my own brain activity except for the bad parts.
Isn't it a thing to think about that God is the originator of math and science.. I only read about half of what I write. Its gibberish when I try to read it twice to parse it through. May Jehovah bless you all. We are living through very dangerous times and I don't envy any one of you for what you are about to experience. We each carry our own load.

As I think about all of this now, I can see where I 'thought' I had dedicated myself to Jehovah. It wasn't true. I dedicated myself to the org. & didn't even realize it. I'm seeing that I have to change, live up to my dedication to Jehovah in word & action.
Finally starting to see what certain bible verses actually mean.

How are things going for you? If I recall correctly you lost your job because you didn’t get vaccinated. Is your life stable now?

Yes, I did. I worked at the hospital as a cleaner (on what turned into the covid unit).
I was fired for not taking the jab, found work 3wks later. Fired from that new job a couple months away from being at that job 1yr, not jab related. Difference in opinions ;)
Found another job, current job a couple months after that (custodian at the catholic school board). See how long I last here ;)

I guess the cry of peace and sudden destruction could refer to the tribulation or Armageddon.
I’m more inclined to apply it to Armageddon since the deaths of those brothers of Christ will result in global celebration and a massive sigh of relief from the world thus peace and security.
However doesn’t the day of Jehovah begin with Jesus taking power which begins simultaneously with the beginning of the tribulation. So as usual, I really don’t have a clue about timing of events.

"Sudden destruction" 1 Thes 5:3, is linked to "Pangs of distress" stress, distress fits with G/T Is 30:20, Joel 1:1-20, Joel 2:1 - 10. Rev 6:12 - 17 all theses verses indicating stressful times. "...Nation will rise against nation.." is also linked to birth pangs Mt 24:8. I suspect that since the cry for peace comes before "sudden destruction" and since the cry comes before "birth pangs" that would put "sudden destruction" and "Nation will rise against nation" somewhat in proximity to each other. So what would "sudden destruction" relate to?

My guess is that "sudden destruction" Comes upon the seventh head of the seven headed wild beast. So since "Whenever they are saying..." comes before the "sudden destruction" and since sudden destruction and nation against nation are birth pangs of distress. Then "whenever they are saying..." comes before the G/T.

I would say that the fall of the seventh head triggers WW3 which is the start of the Great Tribulation, according to how I'm interpreting the bible verses.

Right or wrong this is me attempting to let the bible speak for itself. Good or bad attempt? We'll see?
