War in heaven could be going on now, Satan even already kicked out, Rev. 13:1. Great tribulation starts in these 75 days before the 1260 days. What if the GT only lasts 40 days, and cut short off that? Alot could be happening simultaneously so it would be hard to lay it out in steps..
I'm sure it will be noticeable to everyone when the remnant starts 'behaving like prophets'. (1 Sam 19:20)
The fact that Jesus said it to his apostles makes the other sheep all the more to also keep on the watch. As he said: “But what I say to you, I say to all: Keep on the watch.”
Just as how the Israelites saw Jehovah on Mt. Sinai, they will see Jesus on his coming with the clouds with power and great glory, the righteous and wicked alike.(Exodus 19:7-19)
Matthew 24:27-28 "For just as the lightning comes out of the east and shines over to the west, so the presence of the Son of man will be. Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together." These verses tell me that the presence of Jesus will be as obvious to the chosen ones as lightning is to the human eye... and the Great Crowd who grab ahold of their robes will gather to them like eagles to a carcass.
The Roman soldier that jabbed a spear into Jesus' side has himself been dead for nearly 2,000 years. How is he going to see Jesus?
Hi Carl, I am probably wrong but I was thinking the eagles represent far-sighted ones or the anointed. I think Jesus is the carcass in that as Jesus said they had to eat his body and drink his blood. Not literally but he is the Word of God. Anyway, that was my thinking. Not sure about the lightning but perhaps it means that Jesus return cannot be hidden, like lightning lights up the sky and gets your attention.
That's what I said. His presence will be obvious to the chosen ones, and the other sheep will then follow them.
I can see that way of thinking. Either way I believe only the chosen ones will see Jesus at first.
Is Jesus going to be visible to all, or just the anointed? I get confused.
Revelation says every eye will see him and those who pierced him. As we know, Revelation is written in signs and symbols. Those who pierced him is alluding to the execution of Christ when the Roman soldier pierced the dead Jesus with a spear. Jesus will be pierced again at the conclusion of the parousia when all of his brothers are killed, as Jesus said 'you do it to these, my brothers, you do it to me.' The enemies of Christ will "see" Jesus in the sense they will know who they are fighting against and who is going to execute them. No one will imagine they are being attacked by Martians or Vishnu or some demon. Everyone will know that the Jesus, who is the son of Jehovah, not Christendom's jesus, is the Lord they have attacked.
It just comes to show that either Jesus died for you & his blood washes you clean or he died by you & his blood is on your hands. There really is no sitting on the fence here.
