If God gave you one wish...

Solomon asked for wisdom. That was a good one. Of course, the same knowledge that makes a smart man wise could just as easily turn a wise man into a fool. But that's a long story. The question is, if God granted you the same kind of offer, what would you ask for? I'm sure if Jehovah did anything like this for everyone there would have to be some limits on what you could ask for.

For the purposes of this discussion we'll keep it simple. You can't ask to be God or for god like powers, you cannot affect the free will of others, you can't harm anyone, or raise the dead. Besides Jehovah and Jesus have that last thing covered anyway. As for me, I would want to fly like superman but I don't know if that counts as god like powers so if that wouldn't work, I'd ask for a superior intellect geared towards math. Then I could use it to be a better engineer in the new world. I can imagine running through a field ripping numbers apart with my bare hands like Samson with a PhD in physics. Only less graphic and much more difficult to represent visually.

It is what I always pray for me and for others, complete faith in Jehovah and in his promises. Wisdom didn’t save Solomon but in fact Jehovah has already promised the faithful with everything they could possibly want except faith. We ourselves must cultivate it but at the same time, his spirit can help us develop it.

Yeah. Sad thing about Solomon.

Humility. And I'll prove in this post why I need it. I'm smarter than most people I know. Smarter than anyone in my family, better looking, more talented, have a better sense of humor, I mean I'm good at everything I set out to do. :ROFLMAO:

But all joking aside, (I wasn't joking though), I think humility especially for imperfect humans, is perhaps the most important quality we can have. Jesus the second most powerful personage in the universe stooped down to our level, and went so far as to let his human life be snuffed out, in the most horrible way that I doubt that many of us could have endured, it's to me the most remarkable and admirable quality of all. Especially if you're as smart as I am! ROFLOL!

I think I imagined this as a new world kind of thing. Of course we all need mercy. Maybe I chose the wrong words here. I mean like what are you going to do with eternity? What do you want to learn, what do you want create, what do you want to discover? What will you contribute to that new world?

I think the true beauty is we will always be learning. Pick a subject, Master it, move on to the next, once a couple thousand years have gone by you can start over, becasue someone will have taken over where you left off, and he will have master that, and you will find that it's a whole new ball game. Once a certain field get's our interest we will be able to learn it, excel at it, and life will always be rewarding.

I love music but I am not a musician. I played trumpet for a few years in school, so not a musician, but I love music. I have built several speakers built from plans by people who know what they were doing. But I'd like to learn the science behind being able to reproduce music and eventually we'll be able to do it perfectly. I've been a surfer since about 12 years old. I'd like to learn to make surfboards, who knows what will be available to make surfboards with in the new system. But we will be able to perfect them.

And of course building things like houses, cars, etc. There will never be any limits. Space travel? Colonizing new planets? "Whatever the mind of man can conceive he can achieve." In God's system we will find out what being "created in his image" really means. Hint, he's the creator, we will create!

People. I want to discover people. Once we get settled in, I would like to take Driven and go around the world and stay with one person or family for a year to get to know them and work, play, create and hang out with them. After a year, move on to another person/family. I would like to get to know a minimum of one million people really well right away. Then do it all again with the second million set of folks and so on. Along the way, become a musician and learn how to build musical instruments, master furniture building, surf some roping waves around the planet in warm water only though, learn about the animals, do many of the things Driven would like to do, and above all, become amazingly close to our loving creator Jehovah God. That should cover the first billion years, give or take. God's will be done!

My passion is the ocean. Really when I think about it, I want to do it all. Learn to play the guitar. Improve my singing voice. Have a farm and animals and swim in the tropical ocean. I’m not a big fan of cold weather but perhaps that will change.

I'm definitely down with the space travel possibility. That part of the reason I'd focus a lot on math.
I bought a book on cross over design awhile back. They call crossovers the "brain" of your speakers. It controls what frequencies go to each driver in a speaker in additon to some other things. The driver in a speaker, what most people think is a speaker, are actually what are know by speaker designers as drivers, because a speaker is the drivers, enclosure, and crossover, which make it reproduce the music, more or less accurately. Each driver which has a motor producers certain frequncies with some over lapp between each driver, high, mid and low, and a crossover "balances" that, again among other things. I was really good at math, but somehow I was able to skip algebra, and I have never had any regrets. But when I started digging into the book on crossovers, I said to myself, "I didn't learn this math in High School, I'm not learning it now." The crossover is an electric circuit. The basic stuff I understand, and perhaps the book is written thinking anyone who would read it would know that math already, but when I saw some of the equations I said.....

I'll wait until the new system, and I'll stick to stuff which just requires me to read a "blueprint" to build! That I can do! (Just ignore the post I made in that other thread about how smart I am.)

Now y'all are getting the idea! We could have engineering projects that take thousands of years to complete. Like Nomex said about colonizing other planets. How about colonizing Mars? Even if it took a million years, we'd all be around to see the project from its conception all the way up to its completion. How amazing of an experience would that be?

Of course God could just snap his fingers and make it so. But it is conceivable he could charge us with doing certain tasks. Even in this fallen world we can conceive of ways to terraform. This is just stuff we can think of now in our imperfect state, separated from Jehovah. Just imagine what it would be like when we are reunited. We can conceive of a lot, even now. No telling what will be possible in the distant future. The video is about Venus, but same idea.

There's another reason for wanting to master math. I was never good at it, and the public school system kept me drugged as a child because of my Tourettes. Didn't get much of an education until later in life. I basically had to teach myself as an adult what they failed to do as a kid. I did fine with algebra 1. Maybe algebra 2? I forgot. But because I never learned calculus I always failed at 3D math. If I was smarter at math I feel like I could be a better programmer.

You are too one dimensional. Everything I said involves getting to know people. Who do you think we'll be learning from? Angels? Although I do not rule that out, I think of them more as guide's who say, "yeah you can't do that." And by the time we are perfect, we will know what direction is ok to go in and what's not, and then we'll be on our own learning from each other.

Think about this. How do we know how to build a combustion engine, build a light bulb, radio, TV? None of us in our life time invented these things. We know these things from those who discovered and invented those things before us. So we will be learning fropm one another, and that is the best way to get to know someone. You really find out what's in there mind, and that's when you have real one to one deep conversations with people!

All those people you want to meet, are going to want to show you what they are doing, becasu8e it;s going to be what they are into.

I'll tell you what, you can be my Padawan, and I'll show you the ropes! ROFLOL!

I liked Mediator's idea. It reminds me of what I always said when I was a child that I'd do in the new world. Go on an epic adventure around the world. Circle the whole world by foot, or at least as far as I could go by foot. We'd have no time limit. We could stay gone for decades or longer. We'd meet all types of people, animals, sights we'd see, places we'd visit. We'd come back with countless stories.

And I said: "get to know them and work, play, create and hang out with them"
1) Get to know them = goes without saying
2) work = learn from them, get to know what they know and vice versa
3) play = being in a state of play involves creativity, imagination and childlike innocence limited only by human constraints but likely far optimum in the new world
4) create = use of imagination that is potentially a lot less limited than today
5) hang out with them = go beyond the day-to-day and really find out what makes them tick and vice-versa (see item #1)

It didn't cross my mind to have to break down my words for my thoughts to be conveyed properly. Did you actually truly read my post? In my industry we have an acronym, RDR. It stands for Realtors Don't Read. And it is true. It might be that way here on this forum sometimes as well, don't you agree?

@ Nomex: You said: "I'll tell you what, you can be my Padawan, and I'll show you the ropes!"
My comment: It would be an honor to serve as your apprentice, Sensei! I have never seen one minute of a Star Wars movie. Not that that is good or bad, I am just letting you know I had to Google Padawan not having a clue as to what it was/is LOL

@Nomex: You guys are simpletons!
I am not so sure about Jahrule being a simpleton but if you had ever walked half the length of a football field in my shoes, you would welcome that condition. Complexity, overwhelm and stretching personal limits has been my entire adult life, not unlike yours bro. I am however always open to new ways of thinking, so long as they are congruent with my current goals of pleasing Jehovah and Jesus. But if you have sage advice for me my brother, please never hesitate to enlighten me. Well, I take that back, maybe hesitate a tad 🤣
